UNRACKED // Vol. 8: Built From the Rebuild
For Gavin Holroyd, the journey didn’t start on stage—it started on a football field, and later, in the aftermath of going too far, too fast did he rebuild in the gym
Self-taught in training and dieting, Gavin found himself spiraling into extremes.
He chased calories instead of nutrients, restriction instead of real fuel, and eventually crashed—hard.
The weight came back, the burnout hit, and at 18, he knew something had to change.
So he rebuilt.
He took the gym seriously, committed to learning, and dropped 100 pounds in a year.
It wasn’t perfect or always healthy, but it sparked the fire that led him here: bodybuilding
This season, Gavin focused on something new: balance.
Balancing all pillars of life better—friendships, moments, and being present while still pushing like an athlete.
With coaching from Matt Norman, he found a nutrition and fitness program that felt personal, purposeful, and sustainable.
And the work paid off.
Gavin stepped on stage and walked away with the Classic Physique Overall title at the Long Island Classic—proof that rebuilding yourself can lead to something even stronger than what you started with and that growth isn't always linear.
