It is official...as of today the Quiet Hands Equine and Canine Massage therapy pool is open! It has been a long project, but it is better than I ever could have imagined. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful support system of family, friends and clients and can now continue to grow by offering hydrotherapy sessions out of the comfort of my own home.

During recovery from my own surgery, I decided to purchase some items to help my healing...but being off my feet and at home meant my dogs also reaped the benefits! I decided to try out some red light therapy belts and not only did I approve, but so did my older baby girl who had bilateral stifle surgeries at a young age.
So, once back at the barn, I thought I would see what the horses thought...between this and the Back on Track Poll Cap, Wyatt almost fell over during his treatment snooze! Needless to say, I think it is a win!

Feels good go be back on my two feet, to some extent, and helping my fuzzy four-legged friends help get back onto theirs!
Scout is a long time client who adores his maintenance massage and laser sessions. This year, with the swings in temperatures bringing hot and humid weather, he began to experience edema, or swelling, in the hind lower limbs. After a thorough veterinary check, it was determined to most likely be "stocking up" issue due to slow or difficult lymphatic drainage. Thanks to Hestaband by Christa Veinotte, Equine Massage Therapist, we decided to use their Lymphatic tape, which I now have come to swear by! Scout's owners are extremely diligent and began cold hosing, walking to promote circulation and contacted me for treatment options. After a full body massage, lymphatic massage on his hind limbs and lymphatic taping, he was feeling much more like his normal self within 12 hours.
Very excited to work further towards my kinesiology taping certification in the next few months.
Owner approval to post these images...the first show what the legs looked like at initial onset. During his massage evaluation, he did present with moderate edema from the hock downward with mild pitting around the fetlock. Next two images show immediately after bilateral application, and the last show some hours later when the owner went to check on him, stating some of the tape had started to release, but that the legs were just about back to normal!

Change can be scary and stressful, but in this case, change is exciting! Quiet Hands Equine and Canine Massage is adding hydrotherapy! As a chronic pain patient, I can attest to the benefits of off-loading the joints with the buoyancy of water, while working against its resistance to engage the muscles and provide a workout in a controlled setting. This therapy pool was well thought out, and includes multiple levels, allowing for various sizes of patients and different levels of buoyancy, jets to provide additional resistance and increased circulation to muscle groups, and a deeper center area for swimming and floating, which is loved and adored by our senior patients and arthritis sufferers.
We should be up and running by the end of June, if not earlier!
Contact Quiet Hands via email, message, or text to schedule a meet and greet, initial session and get ready to splish and splash!!!
Further details to follow.

It is my honor to welcome this stunningly sweet boy to Quiet Hands Equine and Canine Massage . Dan is a 20 year old TB gelding, whose owner noticed a change in behavior when mounting. He has had multiple modalities; MagnaWave as well as chiropractic work, who all noticed the tension held throughout his back.
After his initial evaluation, we decided to treat him with a full body sport massage, which features a trigger point targeted approach. Wr also utilized some Masterson Method techniques targeting the poll and TMJ.
Dan handed his first session beautifully and was unsure what to do with his new found mobility!

Big things in 2025...new massage techniques...craniosacral and Masterson method...KT tape certification...Essex Horse Trials and installation of the therapy pool, looking quite similar to the picture below, featuring a pool wide walking ledge, shallow area for smaller patients, and therapeutic jets! Ground breaks in March and should be functional by the end of May! So very excited to be able to host swim sessions for our small animal clients and provide different massage treatment options for both equine and canine patients.
