Feels good go be back on my two feet, to some extent, and helping my fuzzy four-legged friends help get back onto theirs!
Scout is a long time client who adores his maintenance massage and laser sessions. This year, with the swings in temperatures bringing hot and humid weather, he began to experience edema, or swelling, in the hind lower limbs. After a thorough veterinary check, it was determined to most likely be "stocking up" issue due to slow or difficult lymphatic drainage. Thanks to Hestaband by Christa Veinotte, Equine Massage Therapist, we decided to use their Lymphatic tape, which I now have come to swear by! Scout's owners are extremely diligent and began cold hosing, walking to promote circulation and contacted me for treatment options. After a full body massage, lymphatic massage on his hind limbs and lymphatic taping, he was feeling much more like his normal self within 12 hours.
Very excited to work further towards my kinesiology taping certification in the next few months.
Owner approval to post these images...the first show what the legs looked like at initial onset. During his massage evaluation, he did present with moderate edema from the hock downward with mild pitting around the fetlock. Next two images show immediately after bilateral application, and the last show some hours later when the owner went to check on him, stating some of the tape had started to release, but that the legs were just about back to normal!
