I realize it’s been almost a year since I last posted. It’s a combination of time going fast, a full year, and also me taking a step back from social media, the news, and making a conscious effort to reflect on how I want to contribute to the world, and to post only when I have something that I find meaningful vs adhering to an algorithm that in my opinion creates noise.
I guess in a way, I’ve been going inward all year, much like the winter solstice is showing up for us to do during this time: a time of reflection, contemplation, regeneration, and slowing down.
To mark this occasion, we gathered in circle the other night to create a despacho, a living prayer of gratitude and a reminder that we are connected to all living things, and to set intentions for the future; planting seeds for ourselves and the generations who will come after us. Happy Winter Solstice! May we all remember that light exists even in the darkest night!
