🏛️ On Tuesday at the Pennsylvania Senate floor, Senator Christine Tartaglione issued a proclamation raising awareness for Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month and introduced a resolution to have the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania officially recognize April as Limb Loss Awareness Month. This important moment helps shine a light on the millions of Americans living with limb loss and limb difference and the need to ensure access to the care and technology that allows people to move, work, and live without limits.
Even more encouraging, Senator Tartaglione, Senator Frank Farry, and Senator Judy Ward will be co-sponsoring Pennsylvania’s So EveryBODY Can Move legislation — a bill that helps ensure amputees have the insurance coverage necessary for prosthetic care so they can be restored to their highest level of function and fully participate in life.
Today, a team of 15 patient advocates and clinical specialists were in Harrisburg meeting with legislators to discuss the upcoming legislation. Lawall Prosthetics & Orthotics was proud to have Patient Advocate Mike Ryan and Mallory Fellar, CPO, on the ground advocating for patients and access to care.
