W**D FOR ANXIETY??…
As a clinician, I often talk with clients about the relationship between cannabis use and anxiety. While some individuals experience temporary relaxation, research consistently shows that higher THC levels can increase anxiety, panic, and physiological arousal (rapid heart rate, racing thoughts, restlessness).
This happens because THC impacts:
the amygdala (our fear center)
stress hormones
and the body’s natural anxiety-regulation pathways
For clients who already struggle with anxiety, trauma, or panic symptoms, cannabis can actually worsen the underlying issue, even if it seems helpful in the moment.
From a full balanced perspective, I encourage people to seek forms of regulation that support long-term healing — grounding techniques, therapy, lifestyle changes, and spiritual practices that strengthen emotional resilience.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” — Isaiah 40:29
There is nothing wrong with seeking relief; we just need to make sure we’re choosing what truly promotes healing.
If anxiety has been intensifying or becoming harder to manage, it may be time to look at the full picture — your body, your mind, and your spiritual well-being.
