📢 Beginning Wednesday, October 1 — Maryland is officially implementing Eric’s ID Law.

This law allows individuals with hidden disabilities to add a butterfly symbol 🦋 to their driver’s license or ID card for free.

💡 The butterfly serves as a discreet, respectful way to let first responders, law enforcement, and others know that a person may have a non-visible disability — helping ensure safety, understanding, and proper support.

✨ 3 easy ways to add the butterfly symbol:
1️⃣ Through your myMVA account
2️⃣ At any MVA kiosk
3️⃣ At any MVA branch

Let’s spread the word and honor the legacy of Eric, whose story inspired this important step toward inclusion and awareness.

October 1st marked history in Maryland.

The Maryland Department of Vehicle and Transport officially launched the Eric ID Law — issuing personal ID cards and driver’s licenses for individuals with hidden disabilities, including those on the spectrum.

Congratulations to The lawmakers who made this possible, The State of Maryland , the governor , Eric whose name carries this legacy, Every supporter, advocate, and friend who stood firm
