Rain or shine, our Walking Club keeps moving!

When the weather doesn’t cooperate, we bring the walk indoors— hallways become walking paths, upbeat music keeps everyone smiling, and every step is shared with great company.

We even have a rest station to pause, hydrate, and cheer each other on before getting back to it!

A little rain never stops this amazing community!

We’re rolling in style!

We are so excited and incredibly grateful for our brand NEW bus!

This wonderful addition means more outings, more adventures, and more special moments for our residents — and we know they are going to LOVE it!

Now it needs the perfect name! Residents and families can submit name ideas in the lobby of our community and the new name will be announced on March 17th!

We can’t wait to see the creativity our community brings. Let the naming begin!

In February, we asked our residents a simple question:

What dating advice would you give to younger generations today?

Their answers were practical, sincere, and shaped by decades of real-life experience — and they had a lot to say!

Each month, we share advice from the wisest members of our Spring Oak family: our residents. It’s one small way we continue to elevate their voices and honor the lives they’ve lived.

If someone younger in your life comes to mind while watching, this one might be worth passing along.

Which piece of advice stood out to you most?

When the snow piled high and the roads disappeared, our incredible team didn’t hesitate to stay overnight ensuring every resident was safe, warm, and cared for.

Through the storm, their dedication never wavered. From extra smiles to late-night check-ins and lots of shoveling our snow day turned into a special memory.

We’re beyond grateful for our team who shows up no matter the weather!

We would like to express how thankful we are for the incredible response we’ve received regarding Ginny’s Corner Store. Having our community participate in making this a reality for our residents is truly meaningful to us. We would also like to take a moment to clarify a few questions we’ve been receiving.

Our goal for the store is to make things as accessible and convenient as possible for our residents. While there is a minimal cost for items, all profits go directly back into maintaining the store and supporting residents’ needs.

We are deeply appreciative of all donations that have been made. These donations are intended to help get the store up and running, and we are grateful for the continued support from our community.

Ginny’s Corner Store was inspired by our resident Virginia’s dream of opening a not-for-profit store for her community, and we feel lucky to help bring her vision to life. We’re excited to share more updates!

Welcome to Ginny’s Corner Store!

We are so excited to announce that we are in the early stages of opening Ginny’s Corner Store for our residents at Spring Oak Senior Living at Forked River!

Virginia “Ginny” Sheppard became part of our Spring Oak family in 2022. She was always looking for ways to help her peers and bring smiles to those around her. Ginny dreamed of opening a corner store—one that would make everyday items more accessible and add a little joy to daily life for residents.

Although Ginny has since passed, we are honored to bring her dream to life.

To make Ginny’s Corner Store a reality, we are asking our community for support. Spring Oak Senior Living at Forked River is now accepting donations from the list attached to this post. Donations can be dropped off at the front desk starting today.

We can’t wait to share this special journey with you as Ginny’s Corner Store comes to life.

If you have any questions, please call 609-242-2661 and ask for our Programming Director, Mildred.

In January, we asked residents across our Spring Oak communities a simple question:

What’s the best advice for having a good year?

Their answers were thoughtful, honest, sometimes funny, and full of perspective — and they truly had fun sharing them with us. Each month, we’ll be sharing advice from the wisest members of our Spring Oak family, from across all of our communities.

This is the start of a new series, and we’re excited to continue sharing their voices throughout the year.

When care feels personal, it changes everything.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Frank Evegan, recently shared his personal story and perspective in a conversation that became the most downloaded and listened-to episode of the year for the Senior Living Guide podcast.

The discussion explores what truly makes senior living feel like home — being genuinely known, consistent care, and relationships that matter when families are navigating important decisions.

For many of us at Spring Oak, this work is personal. And it always has been.

If you’re exploring senior living, you’re likely balancing practical questions with something heavier — the responsibility of choosing a place where you or someone you love will live, be cared for, and feel at home.
