how does COVID-19 impact chiropractic
Chiropractic’s overall reaction to the COVID-19 “pandemic” has been disappointingly “non-chiropractic” because it has not been congruent with chiropractic’s philosophy and world view.

I’m not referring to individual DCs of course. Many have not drunk the “Kool-Aid®” and have not been scared into submission by the herd-like mainstream media.

Because chiropractic philosophy is rarely taught in chiropractic schools anymore graduating doctors, many of whom are attracted to positions of leadership and politics, are unfamiliar with our own profession—what makes it unique and its potential.

Coronavirus: We Should Have Learned by Now

And late-breaking coronavirus news (as of March 31st)
latest news about coronavirusBoth NY and CA report that the number of new cases of coronavirus is dropping. But even more is dropping—a March 30th paper published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases estimates a 0.66% death rate [WHO said it would be 3.4% and that set off the panic]. (1) For those under 40, the death rate is estimated to be 0.16% (regular flu is 0.1%). Kids under 9 have the lowest death rate at 0.00161%. For those over 80: 7.8%.

The dust hasn’t settled yet. My prediction is that they have preferentially tested sick people, who likely would have died from their existing health conditions. Since it’s always in the population, people die with coronavirus rather than from coronavirus. But it’s reported that the virus killed them. Until we look at background death rates, we have no way of knowing if there’s an increased mortality or not.

Peter Gøtzsche, MD, founder of Cochrane Collaboration, with 75 papers published In top bio-medical journals, writes in the British Medical Journal, March 8th, 2020:

Case-fatality rates for respiratory virus infections are highly uncertain. Many mild infections pass unnoticed, and if an elderly frail patient with serious heart disease is pushed over the edge by an infection, was it then a virus death or a cardiac death?

I have suspected for a long time that we are the victims of mass panic. Two days ago, I read in a newspaper that the average age of those who died after coronavirus infection was 81 and that they also often had comorbidity.

What if the Chinese had not tested their patients for coronavirus or there had not been any test? Would we have carried on with our lives, without restrictions, not worrying about some deaths here and there among old people, which we see every winter? I think so. (2)

Corona virus hysteria is very powerful!
scared of corona virusSchools, churches and synagogues closed, movies and theaters dark, concerts canceled, college kids sent home. We even had to cancel our KST seminars in Chicago and London. And patients are canceling; now it’s getting personal!

Cold post office
In my zip code, they don’t deliver the mail; everyone goes to the little post office. Yesterday the door was wide open! “It’s 35 degrees,” I yelled out to no one in particular. “Would you like me to close the door?”

“No, we’re keeping the door open because of the virus,” came a voice from the back (obviously busy sorting mail or reloading or whatever postal employees do).

“Shouldn’t you want to keep it closed so the virus doesn’t blow in?” I asked.

“We’re doing it so people won’t touch the door,” she replied.

Meanwhile, it’s freezing inside. What if they get pneumonia? Well, at least it’s not corona virus.

KST: a snapshot or a movie?
What’s the difference between a snapshot and a movie? A snapshot records a moment frozen in time while a movie records a continuous flow of time. Here is a little personal story that shows how this relates to healthcare and KST.

We were traveling from Philadelphia to Williamsburg, Virginia when I started getting a serious pain in my right TMJ. It got worse and worse until I couldn’t open my mouth to eat or drink. I could barely speak. Using a straw was my only nourishment. I was suffering.

I could only walk because if I tried to run the force of my pounding footsteps radiated up to my TMJ causing intense jaw pain. “Wow, this is fascinating how my footsteps are connected to my jaw,” I thought (between bouts of agony).
