🍁Poet-tree En Motion returns 7-9PM on Wednesday, Oct. 29th to The Rotunda in West Philly for its annual “Honoring the Ancestors” celebration! 🎃🍂🌼

It’ll be a multidisciplinary night of poetry, dance, music, and fire dedicated to remembrance, creativity, and community.

🍂What to Expect:
An ancestral altar will be set up — all are welcome to bring photos, offerings, and mementos of loved ones to add to the collective space of remembrance.

🎭 Featured Artists:
✨ Plum Dragoness – Spoken Word, Theatrical Dance & Fire Dance
📖 Carol Moog – Featured Poet, reading from her published work
🎙️ Local Poets & Youth Guests – Poetry Readings
🥁 Leana Song – African band led by Shawn Hennessey
🔥 B.A.D. Blaze & Friends + Live DJ – Fire Show featuring Ambra Renee, Bryce Adams, and Fern McMillian
🎨 Plus a Live Painting experience by a visionary artist (TBA!)

Donations will be collected
at the door for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to support
emergency famine relief and aid to war-torn regions around the world.

Honored to be a part of this beautiful community event once again Earth Festival… I’m Looking forward to see where I can fit into the flow with an offering of a workshop in “TaiChi & Qigong for Everyone” again (as seen in the video here;) + this year I’ll participate in a different capacity ( Spirit Arts) by offering Thai Bodywork in the Healing Arts Village tent (posting availability to book a session for Saturday/Sunday asap)… & if there’s room for some spoken word, expect I’ll bless the mic (@ Plum Dragoness)

Check out our classes on the weekly schedule… During the summer we also have classes at (the Nile Swim Club;) on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings, plus a tai chi class on Wednesdays for the next few weeks & women’s qigong on Wednesday evenings in August & October!

BIO:

Angi Vita is an artist and body painter who has a keen ability to sense the inner beauty of humans of all shapes, genders, and ages. Her works of art on these living beings is a special kind of intimacy that doesn't objectify, but instead exalts the person in feeling confident and adorned.

Angi fervently discards the notion of asking someone to model based on superficial ideas. She believes that there is no normal, and that all bodies are too beautiful to exclude.

In the ten years she has worked with such complex canvases, Angi has grown to understand how special each moment of connection is, and likens the process to that of making a sand mandala; present-oriented, intentional, temporary, and distinctive. The process of gaining trust from others, both physically and emotionally, transcends the work and becomes a unique story that cannot be replicated.

Angi is an avid traveler whose multicultural lens has been the engine of inspiration in every single paint stroke. Her adventures have given her perspective that the focus of visual art is not in the end result, but rather in the process. Poet-Tree En Motion Presents Arts Showcase with Free Fire Performing, Live Music and Movement Meditations June 18 at The Rotunda

WEST PHILADELPHIA – Poet-tree En Motion returns Wednesday, June 18 to light up the summer solstice with live local art! Join from 7–9 p.m. at The Rotunda in West Philadelphia for a free multidisciplinary arts showcase that will ignite your senses and feed your soul.

The summer solstice brings passion and creativity. There will be an ample supply of both at this event with presentations of dance-theater, spoken-word poetry, movement meditations and live music. An incendiary fire show will culminate the night’s festivities.

KillerWhale – high-energy funk, ’80s synth-pop and hip-hop fusion
