I had the opportunity to serve as the keynote speaker today for Iafrate Construction.
Today’s conversation was a little different than many of the talks I give. Instead of focusing solely on mental health, we spent time diving into leadership in the trades and how building a strong culture in this industry is very different from any other.
In the trades, leadership isn’t just about titles it’s about understanding the reality of the work. The long hours. The physical labor. The sweat, grit, and sacrifice that go into what our workforce does every single day.
Together, we explored what leadership really looks like in this environment and took time to break down different personality styles that show up on job sites and in organizations. When leaders understand these differences, it opens the door for stronger communication, deeper connection, and the kind of support our trades industry truly needs.
It was an honor to stand in a room full of leaders who care deeply about their teams and are willing to have meaningful conversations about how we can do better.
Real leadership in the trades means showing up, listening, and creating a culture where people know they matter.
Grateful for the opportunity to share the space and the conversation with the Iafrate Construction team today.
