I’m truly honored to be part of this upcoming Behavior Health Panel at the Michigan Safety Conference.

This conversation is an important one—because mental health in the workplace is not just a personal issue, it’s a cultural one. The environments we build, the support we offer, and the conversations we’re willing to have all directly impact the well-being and effectiveness of our teams.

I’m grateful to stand alongside such a strong group of professionals who are all committed to making a difference in how we approach mental health—especially in industries where it’s often overlooked or misunderstood.

If you’re attending the conference, I would love for you to join us:

I had the opportunity to serve as the keynote speaker today for Iafrate Construction.

Today’s conversation was a little different than many of the talks I give. Instead of focusing solely on mental health, we spent time diving into leadership in the trades and how building a strong culture in this industry is very different from any other.

In the trades, leadership isn’t just about titles it’s about understanding the reality of the work. The long hours. The physical labor. The sweat, grit, and sacrifice that go into what our workforce does every single day.

Together, we explored what leadership really looks like in this environment and took time to break down different personality styles that show up on job sites and in organizations. When leaders understand these differences, it opens the door for stronger communication, deeper connection, and the kind of support our trades industry truly needs.

It was an honor to stand in a room full of leaders who care deeply about their teams and are willing to have meaningful conversations about how we can do better.

Real leadership in the trades means showing up, listening, and creating a culture where people know they matter.

Grateful for the opportunity to share the space and the conversation with the Iafrate Construction team today.

One of the most powerful parts of the Healing Together Retreat is our intimate breakout sessions.

This is where the real work happens.
This is where voices soften.
This is where walls come down.

You won’t just sit and listen — you’ll step into a space designed for connection, reflection, and personal growth.

Each breakout session is intentionally created to:
• Help you explore your healing journey in a safe, supportive space
• Give you practical tools you can take home
• Encourage honest conversations without judgment
• Remind you that you are not alone

Whether you’re navigating grief, learning to regulate triggers, rebuilding your identity, or simply craving deeper connection — there is a space for you here.

Small groups.
Real conversations.
Lasting impact.

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens together.

90% of this rooms hands raised when I asked “How many of you have lost a loved one by su***de?”

Todays Toolbox Talks

I had the privilege of leading three more toolbox talks today, and the very last one truly hit home.

I don’t often ask this question, but today I felt compelled:
“How many of you have lost a loved one to su***de?”

My heart sank when nearly 90% of the room raised their hands. 💔

The look on everyone’s faces was almost in shock realizing they weren’t alone in their grief of losing someone they loved to su***de. We stopped. We paused. And together, we took a moment to honor that shared pain.

That moment was powerful and heartbreaking. It reminded us all that su***de is not a distant issue; it’s something that has touched nearly every one of us.

I encouraged everyone in that room to take the conversation forward. To speak up. To bring su***de awareness and prevention into their daily lives and job sites. Because sometimes, it’s one conversation that can save a life.

We can’t afford to stay silent. Let’s keep breaking the stigma together
