We’re still celebrating Black Maternal Health Week 🎉. Last night the postpartum cohort (Helping Us Grow) gathered to complete Ajah’s training entitled Wrapped & Rooted (Belly Binding Guide) from Serenity Harbor Doula Services . The doulas learned how to use African cotton print, muslin, stretch jersey & a rebozo. We ended our meeting with peach 🍑cobbler, coconut cake 🍰and Ben & Jerry's ice cream 🍨 to uplift that our work is rooted in joy and justice.

Kicking off 🤸🏾BMHW @ North Star. I have so much gratitude 💕for the girl in these photos because we made it. The main reason for the work is because I almost didn’t survive. My why rings loud & clear. In the U.S., Black women are over three times more likely to die from a pregnancy- related causes. This year marks the 9th Annual Black Maternal Health Week, taking place April 11–17. Join to uplift a future Rooted in Justice and Joy.
