October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our hearts are with all those who have lost a loved one or been impacted by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international health campaign that's held every October. The month aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects 2.3 million women worldwide. Known best for its pink theme color, the month features a number of campaigns and programs-conducted by groups ranging from breast cancer advocacy organizations to local community organizations to major retailers-aimed at:

*supporting people diagnosed with breast cancer, including those with metastatic breast cancer
*educating people about breast cancer risk factors
*encouraging women to go for regular breast cancer screening starting at age 40 or earlier, depending on personal breast cancer risk
*fundraising for breast cancer research

Dr. Andrew Stasevich, D.O. at our Haslett Primary Care location is taking new patients! Dr. Stasevich is a Family Medicine Physician originally from the westside of Detroit, MI. He spent some time there in his childhood and moved to Livonia. He attended Wayne State University where he received his B.A in Biological Sciences and a B.S in Psychology. He then went to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with his degree as a Doctor of Osteopathy. He has worked at various clinical practices in rural and suburban settings throughout Michigan, as well as an academic setting with MSU as an assistant professor. He enjoys preventative care and many other areas of medicine. Dr. Stasevich is par with many major insurances at this time. Please join us in welcoming Cheryl Mills, FNP-BC to our CIMA Main location! Cheryl is an internal medicine provider who sees patients from 18 and up. She went to Keuka College in New York where she received her BSN. After college she worked with adolescents in psychiatric units and was part of a day treatment program as a floor nurse. She went on to become a Nurse Manager, Program Director, and Director of Nursing. Later on she went to Michigan State University where she graduated in 1999 with her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN, FNP). Cheryl worked at MSU Endocrinology where she helped patients with adult diabetes and thyroid diseases. She has also worked with gastroenterology/hepatology, hospice, and family practice.
