October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our hearts are with all those who have lost a loved one or been impacted by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international health campaign that's held every October. The month aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects 2.3 million women worldwide. Known best for its pink theme color, the month features a number of campaigns and programs-conducted by groups ranging from breast cancer advocacy organizations to local community organizations to major retailers-aimed at:

*supporting people diagnosed with breast cancer, including those with metastatic breast cancer
*educating people about breast cancer risk factors
*encouraging women to go for regular breast cancer screening starting at age 40 or earlier, depending on personal breast cancer risk
*fundraising for breast cancer research

Dr. Andrew Stasevich, D.O. at our Haslett Primary Care location is taking new patients! Dr. Stasevich is a Family Medicine Physician originally from the westside of Detroit, MI. He spent some time there in his childhood and moved to Livonia. He attended Wayne State University where he received his B.A in Biological Sciences and a B.S in Psychology. He then went to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with his degree as a Doctor of Osteopathy. He has worked at various clinical practices in rural and suburban settings throughout Michigan, as well as an academic setting with MSU as an assistant professor. He enjoys preventative care and many other areas of medicine. Dr. Stasevich is par with many major insurances at this time.
