Earlier today, MAC Assistant Director Tim Gaughan attended a fundraiser for State Rep. Julie Rogers (D-Kalamazoo), who is running for Michigan Senate next year. Last session, Rep. Rogers introduced pro-patient legislation that would prohibit an insurer from claiming a service as a health care benefit if the co-pay for the service is more than 50%. She also voted for House Bill 5956, pro-chiropractic legislation that codified the provider non-discrimination provisions of Section 2706(a) of the Affordable Care Act in Michigan law.

Last Wednesday, Sarah Lightner - State Representative of Springport (45th House District) attended the MAC District 4 meeting and met with approximately 20 Michigan Association of Chiropractors members. Rep. Lightner, a member of the Michigan House Insurance Committee, talked with attendees about the current climate in Lansing, coverage and reimbursement issues, the MAC's legislative agenda, and more. Rep. Lightner has consistently voted in favor of pro-chiropractic legislation during her tenure in the Michigan House.
