The MAC is proud to announce that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer recently issued a proclamation declaring September 2025 as “Drug-Free Pain Management Awareness Month” in Michigan!

Governor Whitmer’s proclamation concludes: “Drug-free forms of health care, including chiropractic… play an important role in helping to ease the immense burden of pain management facing our state.”

Chiropractic care is a drug-free, evidence-based and primary care option for pain management that yields improved clinical outcomes, reduced costs and high levels of patient satisfaction.

Earlier this year the Michigan Legislature passed and Governor Whitmer signed into law legislation amending Michigan’s Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA). Michigan law now requires all employers – even small businesses – to provide earned sick time to their employees. The MAC has created a “members only” FAQ document that can help practices answer your questions!

Congress is looking to ease restrictions on Veterans’ use of Community Care practitioners, including chiropractors. Two U.S. senators have introduced legislation that would make it easier for rural veterans to seek care. While it has become easier over the past decade for Veterans to use their benefits, they are still required to jump through bureaucratic hoops to use non-VA facilities.

Veterans often face hurdles when they want the Department of Veterans Affairs to pay for care from clinics and hospitals outside the federal system. A bill in Congress, coupled with a major funding request from the Trump administration, could help clear the path for many rural veterans.

What an incredible weekend at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris, MI for the MAC UP Convention!

From August 16–17, chiropractors from across the state came together for two days of connection, continuing education, and professional growth. It was a fantastic opportunity to network, learn, and strengthen our community.

A special thank you to Congressman Jack Bergman for joining us and showing support for the chiropractic profession, and to our outstanding educators (pictured: Mr. Drew Detzner and Dr. Passalaqua), for delivering engaging, informative sessions that inspired and empowered.

Dr. Moreno will present on the American Development Model (ADM) and how it can be used to increase youth sport participation and improve long-term athletic performance.
