Don't be fooled by the DOJ's request to dismiss another case aimed at restricting access to mifepristone. Despite their attacks on s*xual and reproductive health care access, the Trump administration knows that abortion restrictions are deeply unpopular.

This is nothing more than an attempt to avoid further angering voters ahead of November's Midterm Elections — but we aren't falling for it.

For the second time this year, the Trump administration is trying to at least delay another legal attempt to curb access to medication abortion.

"Since Trump took office for the second time and under Noem’s tenure, immigrant rights groups have held that pregnant people have received inadequate care, q***r and trans immigrants have alledged forced labor and s*xual assault in detention facilities, and, according to federal officials, pregnant unaccompanied minors have been shipped to a substandard detention facility in Texas, a move that advocates believe is to keep them from having abortion access."

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) new role could grant him leeway to control how detained immigrants receive reproductive or gender-affirming healthcare.

“HB 5364 is yet another example of politicians trying to insert themselves where they’re not needed. If passed, this bill would require both chambers of the Michigan Legislature to approve all changes to statewide education standards before they could take effect. This undermines Michigan s*x education laws that already exist and diminishes local school district control on their curriculum approval process.

Unsurprisingly, this bill's introduction comes after the State Board of Education suggested new s*x education standards last year. It’s important to note that these standards are not mandates on individual school districts. The standards are merely recommendations on evidence-based best practices for teaching health and s*xual education.

The Michigan State Board of Education is staffed and supported by experts. Politicians with no background in education shouldn’t be telling them how to do their jobs. Rather than working to pass legislation that will actually help Michiganders, House leadership is spending their time attacking educators and politicizing our classrooms instead.”
