The US House of Representatives has failed to pass legislation that would have prevented health care premiums from skyrocketing across the country.

Now, with Congress in recess until after the new year, health care costs could double for millions of Americans, forcing far too many to make the impossible decision to go without coverage at all next year.

Health care is a human right, not a political bargaining chip — and we won’t forget who chose politics over people when it mattered most.

People are facing skyrocketing health care costs, but President Trump and his allies in Congress refuse to fix the health care crisis they created. Instead, they are voting to take away health care, restrict abortion, and criminalize gender-affirming care.

Living with HIV doesn’t define who someone is, but access to care can shape what’s possible. With today's treatments, people with HIV can live long, healthy, fulfilling lives — and everyone deserves access to the care they need.

Let's choose care over stigma and compassion over punishment to build a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.

"Project 2026 picks up where Project 2025 left off: banning abortion pills, weaponizing the 150-year-old Comstock Act to criminalize medication by mail, embedding fetal personhood across federal agencies, and stripping every federal safeguard protecting reproductive freedom."

When the Heritage Foundation released its new policy blueprint for 2026 this week—an extension of the now-infamous Project 2025—it did so with the calm confidence of an institution convinced no one will stop it. The document is shorter than last year’s 900-page “Mandate for Leadership,” bu...

“We’re talking about bipartisan passed, already agreed upon resources to uplift new moms and their babies at the most vulnerable stage of life, funds to provide services to kids with cancer, resources to improve school infrastructure, food pantry expansions, affordable housing projects, and much more.

"Time and time again, I’ve said: budgets are moral documents. Not only does this political maneuver by Matt Hall and his Republican colleagues lack any ounce of humanity; it’s also completely reckless, devoid of transparency, and a slap in the face to the people of Michigan, who deserve better than this.” — State Senator Sarah Anthony

Organizations that have relied on Michigan state agency work project funding learned Thursday that the House Republican vote to disapprove nearly $645 million in agency spending will be harmful to key services aided by the state. GOP members of the House Appropriations Committee, who control the maj...

Today, Senate Republicans in Washington, D.C. blocked an effort to make health care affordable for millions of Americans, including over half a million Michiganders who access health coverage through the Health Care Marketplace.

As if that wasn’t enough, they also pushed a vote to restrict abortion and health care for transgender people. This callous disregard of the health care affordability crisis is an absolute failure of leadership by Congressional Republicans.

Abortion stigma isolates people when what they really deserve is support. Abortion is normal. Abortion is lifesaving health care. And anyone who needs one deserves care without judgment. 💗
