We want every child in Michigan to have HOPE — Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences. Positive childhood experiences (PCEs) drive healthy child development and reduce the lifelong effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). The HOPE framework centers around four building blocks that CTM and our partners work to strengthen within all families – relationships, environment, engagement, and emotional growth. ✨ Fathers as Mentors: Building Bonds with Daughters ✨

Fathers play a crucial role in mentoring their daughters, shaping their confidence, resilience, and sense of self-worth. From the earliest days, your presence and interactions create a foundation for a trusting and empowering relationship.

For babies, start with simple activities like making eye contact, singing lullabies, or narrating your day. These interactions build trust and communication. As she grows, engage in activities that show your interest in her world—whether it’s playing pretend, reading together, or exploring the outdoors. Share your values through actions and conversations, teaching her about kindness, perseverance, and respect.

Fathers who actively participate in their daughters’ lives empower them to feel valued and capable. Remember, the time you invest today strengthens her confidence for the future.

If kids see something scary on the news, parents can help by listening to them and clarifying, teaching them to look for the helpers, and reassuring that they are safe and loved. Our hearts go out to everyone in LA, especially those displaced by wildfires. Here's more on how to help kids understand scary news: https://to.pbs.org/40qEhGS
