Proud to announce that a group of nurses, including myself, have worked to form a local chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) called Capital Area NAHN. As a new chapter we are in the beginning stages of making connections in our community, recruiting members, and preparing quarterly education & membership meetings that we will be hosting this year. Our mission is to support efforts which promote health in Hispanic communities, increase the number of Hispanics entering the nursing profession, and to contribute to leadership experiences for all chapter members.

To learn more and to become a member please visit nahnnet.org or email CapitalAreaNAHN@gmail.com

As President of the Capital Area NAHN , I had the privilege of attending NAHN Hill Day and the Latino Leadership Institute in Washington DC last week. This was a wonderful opportunity to advocate at the Hill and to obtain new leadership skills.

Excited and looking forward to a productive first year!
