MPCA member health center, Cass Family Clinic has opened a new mobile clinic which will be led by newly appointed director Nadzieja Pocheki. Congratulations Ray!

Dr Ray Bohrer was the recipient of the 2025 Primary Care Association Board Member of the Year Award! We'd like to highlight a bit of Ray's history as it relates to the Clinic:

Dr. Ray Bohrer, MD was one of the founding volunteer physicians of Traverse Health Clinic which is celebrating its 50th year anniversary (est. 1975). From the humble beginnings of a group of volunteer providers identifying the need to provide healthcare for those who couldn't afford it...to now serving nearly 4,300 patients and 20,000 patient encounters in primary care, behavioral health and recovery program services. Dr. Bohrer has served on the Traverse Health Clinic Board for over 13 years and has served as Board Chair for the past 2 years, as well as going on 46 years of volunteering with the Clinic. During this time Ray has provided insightful strategic leadership and guidance to Traverse Health Clinic and to the Traverse Health Clinic Board of Directors (that has many new Board Members). His ability to keep on task, facilitate a light-hearted meeting and work closely with the CEO to ensure we achieve our mission is remarkable. He comments "If we can generate 100 ideas and a couple stick...we are moving forward"! Ray was instrumental in the clinic expanding to offer mobile medical services to the unsheltered as well as supporting the Traverse Health Clinic team to expand these critical services through a $1M expansion grant. Traverse Health Clinic is now seeing over 600 unsheltered patients a year.
