Last week, our Small Talk team had the privilege of attending and presenting at the Michigan Justice for Children Conference in Detroit — a powerful gathering of professionals dedicated to protecting children statewide including law enforcement, DHHS, child welfare agents, and children's advocacy centers.

We left inspired by the collaboration, expertise, and passion shared by so many in our field. From thoughtful workshops to important conversations about justice, healing, and prevention, we’re bringing back new ideas and renewed energy to better serve the children and families in our community.

Grateful to be part of a statewide movement working toward safety, hope, and justice for all kids. 💙

🌟 It’s Forensic Interviewers Week 🌟
At Small Talk, we’re proud to honor the compassionate professionals who help children feel believed, seen, and safe.

Forensic interviewers are specially trained to ensure that children only have to share their stories once — in a safe, supportive environment. Their work minimizes trauma and helps pave the way for both justice and healing.

With expertise in child development, trauma response, and investigative techniques, they ask carefully structured questions that protect the child and preserve the truth.

They’re part of a powerful team — working alongside law enforcement, medical providers, mental health professionals, and prosecutors to protect children and pursue justice.

Every day, they hear heartbreaking truths.
And still, they show up — with empathy, strength, and unwavering care. 💙

It's Denim Day 💙👖At Small Talk, we believe in supporting survivors, listening without judgment, and creating a world where children and adults are safe and believed. Thank you for standing with us as we continue to bring awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month and survivors everywhere!

Denim Day began after a 1998 Italian Supreme Court ruling overturned a r**e conviction, claiming the survivor’s jeans were “too tight” and she must have helped remove them—implying consent. The next day, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans in protest, sparking a global movement.

✨What a great way to round out Child Abuse Prevention Month at the The Izzo Legacy 5k this weekend. It was an incredible day filled with energy, community spirit, and so much fun. Our team had a blast volunteering to hand out race packets Saturday and hitting the course ourselves on Sunday!
