This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team—every nurse, caregiver, housekeeper, the Assisted Living Manager Katja Pukkila and her Assistant AL Manager Jami Wood—who work tirelessly each day to create a safe, compassionate, and exceptional environment for our residents. Countless hours of care, attention, and teamwork go into making this possible, and we are truly grateful for each and every person who contributes to our mission. Results of a recent study showed that among participants, the geometric mean composition of a 24-hour period should be: 43.1% sleep, 30.6% sedentary behavior, 21.8% light physical activity and 4.5% moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA).

This weekend starts the Finnish-American celebration of the Midnight Sun!! We'll be there all 3 days, so come say hei hei! Friday 5pm - 10pm, Saturday 12pm - 10pm, Sunday 11am - 5pm. A little bird tells us we'll have some giveaways....!!

🇫🇮🇸🇪 Hyvää Ruotsinsuomalaisten päivää!
Tänään, 24. helmikuuta juhlistamme ruotsinsuomalaisuutta ja kiitämme kaikkia ruotsinsuomalaisia yhdistyksiä siitä, että pidätte suomen kielen elävänä, luotte merkityksellisiä kohtaamisia kaikenikäisille ja teette pitkäjänteistä työtä kulttuurin, identiteetin ja ruotsinsuomalaisen vähemmistön eteen ympäri Ruotsia. 💙💛
Tänä vuonna meillä on ilo tehdä yhteistyötä seitsemän ulkosuomalaisyhteisön kanssa osana Suomi-Seuran yhteisökumppanuusohjelmaa. Tässä postauksessa nostamme esiin kaksi heistä: Uumajan Suomalainen Kerho ja Malmön Suomi Yhdistys.
Uumajan Suomalainen Kerho - Finska Klubben i Umeå on ollut Uumajassa suomalaisten ja ruotsinsuomalaisten tukena jo vuodesta 1956. Kerho on vuosikymmenten ajan järjestänyt monipuolista vapaa ajan toimintaa, tehnyt etujärjestötyötä ja ennen kaikkea vaalinut suomen kieltä ja kulttuuria – arjessa ja juhlassa.
Ruotsinsuomalaisten päivän kunniaksi kerho järjestää yhteistyössä Uumajan kunnan kanssa tapahtuman Väven kulttuuritalossa klo 12–15.30. Päivän aikana tarkastellaan Uumajan ruotsinsuomalaisten historiaa, kerhon merkitystä kunnassa sekä suomenkielisestä radiotoimintaa, josta kertoo radiotoimittaja ja kerhon jäsen Kaarina Honkanen. Sen jälkeen ääneen pääsee kerhon toiminnassa vuodesta 1963 mukana ollut Veijo Rajala. Päivän päätteeksi juhla huipentuu karaokeen, supisuomalaiseen tapaan 🎶
Mitä Uumaja olisikaan ilman Uumajan Suomalaista kerhoa!
Malmön Suomi Yhdistys kokoaa yhteen Malmön alueen suomalaiset, ruotsinsuomalaiset ja Suomesta kiinnostuneet – iästä, taustasta tai kielitaidosta riippumatta. Yhdistys vahvistaa yhteisöllisyyttä, vaalii suomen kieltä ja kulttuuria sekä tekee aktiivista edunvalvontaa ruotsinsuomalaisen vähemmistön oikeuksien ja näkyvyyden puolesta.
Ruotsinsuomalaisten päivä korostaa myös Malmön Suomi Yhdistyksen vuosien ajan tekemän vähemmistö ja edunvalvontatyön merkitystä. Edunvalvonnan kautta pidetään esillä ruotsinsuomalaisten oikeuksia ja suomen kielen asemaa sekä varmistetaan, että suomalainen identiteetti saa näkyä ja elää Malmössä vuoden jokaisena päivänä – nyt ja tulevaisuudessakin.

The Finnish-American Village team will be competing in the Taste of Finland competition this year! Who will win?? Join us at 5pm on Saturday, February 28 in Lake Worth Beach's Bryant Park or stop by anytime Friday (5-10pm), Saturday (12-10pm) or Sunday (11-5pm) and say hi to us! We'll be enjoying the live music and fun of the Midnight Sun Festival all weekend!
