When you think of autism, do you immediately picture a child?

Many do, but the truth is there are plenty of adults -- diagnosed as children, diagnosed later in life, or currently undiagnosed -- who are navigating life with less understanding than what is offered to the little ones.

The fact that not everyone moves through the world the same way is a beautiful thing, for what a boring world it would be if we were all the same. It takes more than one instrument to make an orchestra, after all!

Autism Awareness Day is about paying attention to the beauty of every song, making space, and letting people be fully themselves without asking them to reshape who they are to fit in with all the "supposed-tos."

Awareness begins with noticing, and acceptance is defined by how we choose to respond. Here at JTC, we notice, accept, and celebrate all the unique things that make you YOU!
