Jonathan Babam, 46, of Atlanta
passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 11,1978, Jay lived a life filled with kindness, laughter and unwavering love for family and friends. He was known for excellent cooking and always making people laugh, Jay touched the lives or everyone he knew. Jay is survived by his five children, Jawaun Weldon, Jabbar Sims, Joaquin Baham, Jaymecia Baham, and Jalia Baham and his mother, Dollie Smothers; father, Nathan Baham, his siblings-Tarick Miller, LeKeasha Ganier, Jabar Baham and Shantre Smothers, a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces. He is preceded death by his sibling, Shannon Bryant(10/2014) and his grand. parents, Booker T. and Octavia Cotton. Though deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful transition to eternal glory of Gayle Marie Jupiter on Monday, August 11, 2025. She was 68.

Gayle was born on February 10th, 1957 in New Orleans to Clarence Joseph Jupiter and Ramona Felton Jupiter. She was the fifth of their twelve children. She attended Saint Leo the Great grade school and Saint Joseph’s Academy high school. She then enrolled at Xavier University, taking a hiatus to have her beautiful daughter Kelly Rene. After a short time in Washington, DC, she returned to New Orleans, completing her undergraduate degree with Honors from Xavier University. Gayle then began pursuing a graduate degree in Literature at UNC. Gayle returned to New Orleans, and then moved to Albuquerque in 2004, remaining there until 2023, when she moved back to New Orleans to be close to family.

Gayle embodied kindness, courage, and authenticity. She embraced her true self and inspired all whose lives she touched. Gayle is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Clare Jupiter (Pat Bryant), brothers David and Karl Jupiter (Rhonda), brother in-law Gavin Bell and Anthony Jones. She is survived by her loving daughter Kelly, her siblings Jane Bell, Eric (Rebecca), Daniel, Jill Jupiter-Jones, Ann Mitchell (Hank), Omodare, Steven (Tonya), and Jerome (Lori), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22 at The Building, 1427 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70113. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarence J. Jupiter endowed scholarship, Xavier University of Louisiana, 1 Drexel Drive, New Orleans, LA 70125.

A U.S. Navy veteran and long time restaurant industry leader, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Angerean Brown Harris; five children, Aaliyah Olgletree, Metairie, Louisiana, Ashleigh Harris Clark (Darryl), Jawaad Ogletree, Ambrea Harris Peters (Silvester), and Alanna Harris (Jay), of Jacksonville, Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister; a brother; and a host of nieces and nephews. WILLIAMS, PEARL ELLA PRATT- 1932-2025
Pearl Williams was born on September 11, 1932 in Grimes County, Texas. She passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Pearl was a long time resident of Garyville, Louisiana. She was the wife of the late Charles Ferdinand Williams of Garyville. Pearl is survived by her only child and devoted daughter, Barbara Denise Williams and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She is predeceased by her mother, Ella Moore and her father, Lourine Pratt, Sr., both of Grimes County Texas. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Floyd Pratt, Sr., Lourine Pratt, Jr., Booker T. Pratt, Sr., Herbert Hoover Pratt, Sr., and Frank Robinson, Jr.; her sisters, Bernice Pratt Gillum, Velma Pratt Derrough, Shirley Robinson Jackson, and Mattie Jewel Pratt.
Pearl was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Midlothian, Texas and Franklin Beauty School in Houston, Texas. She worked as a beautician until she retired.

Family, friends and the staff of Chateau St. James Rehab & Retirement Center in Lutcher, Louisiana and Amedisys Hospice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana are invited to her celebration of life on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at True Light Baptist Church, 258 S Little Hope St, Garyville, LA 70051. Pastor Sam Jones, Ill presiding. Visitation commencing at 10:00 am.

Carlos Jose Armas, Jr. affectionately known as “Carlito” or “CJ”, 29, of Marrero, passed away on March 4, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1996, and from the moment he entered this world, his bright green eyes and big, radiant smile could light up any room.
Carlos had a heart bigger than his body — selfless, kind, and always ready to give more than he had. He loved deeply and unconditionally, touching the lives of everyone he met. His devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, and he took immense pride in being someone they could always count on. His infectious laugh and unique sense of humor could lift even the heaviest of hearts. Carlos never met a stranger; to know him was to love him. He truly lived to make others smile, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Family was everything to Carlos. He was fiercely loyal and brave, always standing by those he loved without hesitation. His strength and devotion to his family were unmatched, and he was a constant source of comfort and protection for those closest to him.
Carlos is survived by his loving parents, Carlos Jose Armas, Sr. and Maria Leonor Rocha; his devoted sister, Karla Maria Armas Gilkers; his cherished daughter, Sofia K. Castillo Armas, who was the light of his life. Carlos’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His light, his love, and his laughter will never fade.

Wayne Allen Harris, affectionately known as “Blob” entered eternal rest On Thursday, April 16th 2024, at the age of 59. He was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many. His passion for life was his family. He cherished his time with family and friends. Wayne's warm smile and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His memory will forever be treasured in our hearts.
