This was our first labyrinth event of the 2025 summer, the Mind~Body~Spirit Fest Sponsored by Conscious Michiana. This 7-circuit labyrinth, painted in the grass at Potawatomi Park, in South Bend, was part of the worldwide celebration of World Labyrinth Day "Walk As One At 1", celebrated annually worldwide on the first Saturday in May. It was an honor to be part of this amazing event. Our picture shows up at about 5:45. https://youtu.be/QtvVqwnmYMM?si=-LjbS6AgHpf4aK2Vin

Additionally, we took our hand painted, 5-circuit, tarp labyrinth to Pride Fest in Michigan City and Art Beat in downtown South Bend. We also created a 5-circuit Meander Labyrinth at "Yart" in South Bend, using driftwood indigenous to the area. The response at each event was very positive as people learned the difference between a maze and a labyrinth, as well as the benefits to slowing down and being mindful as they walked the labyrinth.

Thank you to those who supported our efforts to share the labyrinth with all. We look forward to more of the same in 2026!

Keep an eye open, we would like to create a labyrinth in the snow, sometime this winter. If you are part of, or organize a winter event, we would love to create a labyrinth for you. Call me at (219)363-4756.

“Master, I’ve read so many books… but I’ve forgotten most of them. So what’s the point of reading?”

That was the question of a curious student to his Master. The Master didn’t answer. He just looked at him in silence.

A few days later, they were sitting by a river. Suddenly, the old man said:
“I’m thirsty. Bring me some water… but use that old strainer lying there on the ground.”

The student looked confused. It was a ridiculous request. How could anyone bring water in a strainer full of holes?

But he didn’t dare argue.

He picked up the strainer and tried.
Once. Twice. Over and over again…

He ran faster, angled it differently, even tried covering holes with his fingers. Nothing worked. He couldn’t hold a single drop.

Exhausted and frustrated, he dropped the strainer at the Master’s feet and said:
“I’m sorry. I failed. It was impossible.”

The Master looked at him kindly and said:
“You didn’t fail. Look at the strainer.”

The student glanced down… and noticed something.
The old, dark, dirty strainer was now shining clean. The water, though it never stayed, had washed it over and over until it gleamed.

💬 The Master continued:
“That’s what reading does. It doesn’t matter if you don’t remember every detail. It doesn’t matter if the knowledge seems to slip through, like water through a strainer…

Because while you read, your mind is refreshed.
Your spirit is renewed.
Your ideas are oxygenated.
And even if you don’t notice it right away, you’re being transformed from the inside out.”

📖 That’s the true purpose of reading.
Not to fill your memory…
but to cleanse and enrich your soul.

💡Takeaway:
Reading isn’t to store knowledge, but to purify your mind.
Every page renews your spirit, even if it seems forgotten.
True transformation happens quietly, from within.

SUPER HARVEST MOON TOMORROW! 🍁🌙

Get ready for one of the most magical nights of the year! Tomorrow, the Super Harvest Moon will rise — appearing bigger, brighter, and closer than usual. This stunning full moon marks the closest full moon to the autumn equinox and has guided farmers for centuries as they harvested their final crops of the season.

🔭 Look to the eastern horizon shortly after sunset to watch this golden moon climb the sky. Its warm glow, larger size, and incredible brightness make it a perfect night for skywatching, photography, or just soaking in nature’s beauty.
