We understand the importance of providing enrichment for ALL of the residents. We make sure to include individuals of each level of functioning through our activity programming with a variety of scheduled group activities, including our daily sensory group. Each morning, we invite the residents with varied cognitive and physical impairments to join us for sensory focused activities. Magnatile formations are a fun way for residents to utilize their hearing, sight, and touch. We had fun making various creations using our magnetic shape tiles today.

These innovative STEM students and faculty are part of the FIRST Indiana Robotics district which supports education through learning as a team. Meet current rehab patient, Yvonne Peeples. Yvonne has been working on building strength with our therapy team so that she can regain her independence and return home! With the help of our Real, Life. Rehab. program, she has made so much progress and is gaining confidence with her ability to do things on her own. We asked Yvonne if she would share some words about her experience with the community and she stated, "I am so happy here! Everyone is wonderful and I feel like I am getting better each day."

Congratulations to our rehab-to-home graduate, Barbara Shumaker. Barbara worked hard to regain her independence through rest, socialization, nursing care, and therapy. She felt that she couldn't have done it without such supportive staff members and peers at the facility. Barbara said, "I am grateful for all of these nice people who have helped make it possible for me to be in my own space again." Way to go, Barbara!

Did you know we have an amazing Occupational Therapy program here at Miller's Health & Rehab - La Porte? Our spectacular OT team works hard to assist residents with improving their ability to perform daily tasks through our Real. Life. Rehab. program. Residents work on daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, dressing, and bathing so that they can regain their independence.

Alongside our Occupational Therapy team, residents spend time practicing skills in a home-like environment. Our therapy gym is equipped with a clothes rack, bed, bathroom, kitchenette, staircase, and laundry unit. Residents also get to build their strength by doing fun activities they may do at home like playing golf, co****le or standing table games.
