National School Counseling Week is here and it’s the perfect time to clear something up:

School counselors are not just for “difficult behavior.” We are not only for “college-bound kids. We are not just the schedule changers, test coordinators, or crisis-only people.

We support:

✨ Every student
✨ Every background
✨ Every identity
✨ Every learner
✨ Every story

We teach coping skills, friendship skills, problem solving, emotional regulation, and confidence. We help kids navigate grief, anxiety, big feelings, family changes, and everyday growing up. We celebrate strengths, advocate for needs, and create spaces where students feel seen and safe.

School counseling is prevention, skill-building, and connection. It is mental health support. It is equity work. It is student advocacy.

This week, help us spread the word about what school counselors really do and why every school needs strong counseling programs.
