💡 Insurance 101: Deductibles & Copays Explained 💡

Ever wonder why you sometimes have to pay more at certain visits? Let’s break it down 👇

🔹 What is a deductible?
Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket each year before your insurance starts covering most services.

👉 Example: If your deductible is $1,000, you’ll pay for visits, labs, or procedures until you’ve paid that $1,000.

🔹 Why do I have to pay toward it?
Insurance plans are designed to share costs. You pay a portion (your deductible), and once that’s met, your insurance helps cover the rest.

🔹 What is a copay?
A copay is a fixed amount you pay at the time of your visit (like $20 or $150), depending on your plan.

🔹 Do I always pay both?
Sometimes, yes. Depending on your insurance:
✔️ You may pay a copay for the visit
✔️ AND still have charges applied to your deductible for other services (like labs or tests)

✨ Good to know:
Once you meet your deductible, your costs usually go down—your insurance covers a larger portion!
