**🚨 The Hidden Danger of Water Beads: Protect Your Children 🚨**

Water beads, also known as gel beads or hydrogel beads, might seem like a fun sensory activity, but they can be extremely dangerous, especially for young children. These small, colorful beads expand significantly when exposed to water, making them a serious hazard if ingested.

Recent reports show a disturbing rise in the number of children being treated in emergency rooms after swallowing water beads. When ingested, these beads can continue to expand inside the digestive tract, leading to severe complications, including:

🔴 **Bowel Obstruction**: As water beads swell, they can block parts of the intestines, leading to life-threatening bowel obstruction that often requires emergency surgery.

🔴 **Choking Hazard**: Given their small size, water beads can easily get stuck in a child’s airway, causing choking or breathing difficulties.

🔴 **Toxicity**: While many water beads are labeled non-toxic, there are concerns about potential chemical exposure, especially if they are manufactured outside of regulated regions.

For these reasons, it’s crucial to keep water beads out of reach of young children and to supervise older children closely if they are using them. Remember, no product is worth risking a child’s safety.

Stay informed. Stay vigilant. Keep our kids safe! 🙏

Reminder: kids shouldn’t be in the front seat until 13 years old. Here’s why!

❓ Why choose rear facing? ❓

Because in a crash a forward facing car seat can put 180-200kg of force on your child's delicate neck head and spine. This amount of pressure and force on a child's neck is extremely dangerous and puts them at huge risk of internal decapitation (spinal cord snapping) which can be life threatening.

Have you already turned your little one forward facing and have now learned it’s much much safer to be rear facing? Do not worry! We have successfully turned lots of 1, 2, 3 and even 4 year olds back rear facing even if they have been forward facing for years!

Knowledge is key, acting on that knowledge makes you powerful.

YOU as a parent, are the advocate for your child’s safety. They cannot dictate what is safest for them at such a young age, you need to make the correct and safest decision.

An oldie but a goodie - make sure that chest clip is up high enough!

This is a great visual as to WHY chest clip placement is so important. The chest clip placement on the left does not keep the shoulder straps where they are meant to be, and could result in ejection from the car seat and cause internal injuries and bleeding to vital organs in the event of an accident. The placement on the right has the chest clip properly placed and the shoulder straps pulled taut, protecting the child from injuries.
Please note - the strap placement in this picture is for a forward facing child (straps should be level with or just above the child's shoulders). In a rear facing carseat the shoulder straps should be level with or just below the child's shoulders.
Please place your child's chest clip properly with the top of the chest clip at armpit level.
