The Encopresis Center

The Encopresis Center I'm Dr. Daum, a Harvard educated Pediatric Gastroenterologist working with children who are very challenging to toilet train. http://www.doctordaum.com

I am a Harvard educated Pediatric Gastroenterologist working with children that are very challenging to toilet train. Specifically, I work with children who have encopresis (fecal soiling), withholding or are delayed/ unwilling to toilet training (with or without special needs). I have been in practice for over 45 years. Those families living outside Long Island and Queens, New York, are able to o

btain my services utilizing telephone consultations. I have patients as far away as Australia and the Middle East.

Dear patients and families,
By now many of you are aware of his untimely and unexpected death of my husband, Dr Fredric Daum.

It is my hope and desire to continue the telemedicine practice that Dr. Daum and I created 10 years ago. To that end, I am currently exploring various possibilities so that I can continue to provide the services which helped so many of you, your children and your families. At this time, I would ask you to please have patience while I grieve the loss of my husband and support my children.
As soon as I have the practice up and running again, I will contact you as I hope to continue to be involved in your child’s care, which was so important to my husband and to me.
Thank you,
Michelle Daum

Dear Families and Friends,

With terrible sadness, I need to inform you that Dr Daum passed away on Sunday morning from a cerebral hemorrhage.

He loved working with all of you more than you can know. He was on a call with a patient from Louisiana Tuesday evening when she alerted me that something did not sound right. His oldest son was able to rush to the house and travel with him by ambulance to the hospital. His five children, their partners and I were with him until he peacefully left this world.

Dr Daum's love for your children was boundless. His own 5 children, ages 27-50, all happily shared him with you, knowing how dedicated his was to their care. His wish was that every child would be successfully toilet trained so as to find all the joy and happiness of a full childhood. We are all heartbroken.

His final wish was that I continue his work, as he trained me to do. Once we are past our grieving period, I will begin working on how to move forward with that process.

Thank you for your patience, your well wishes and your understanding. Most of all for allowing him to be a part of your lives.

If you'd like to honor Dr. Daum, please consider making a donation to Save the Children, a charity near and dear to his heart. savethechildren.org

With gratitude, Michelle Daum
