Amada Estrada was in the process of getting her teacher certification when tragedy struck. She was visiting family in Nuevo Laredo, when she began to have difficulty breathing due to pneumonia. It was October 2020, during the height of the pandemic, when she was transported across the border by ambulance. When she arrived to the hospital in Laredo, she had a heart attack.

The doctors were baffled at how quickly she recovered. She was in ICU one night during her two week recovery. Three months after she was released, she was admitted back into the hospital. Amada had gone into sudden kidney failure and had no choice but to begin dialysis treatment. It was a difficult diagnosis to accept. All Amada could think was that she was dying.

Since then, she has been undergoing dialysis three days a week, which helps to remove deadly toxins from her blood. Some days she feels good, other days she feels weak but her Faith in God remains strong. Please help Amada get a second chance at life by sharing her story.
