ELIDA CORTINAS
With deep faith in the promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, who was called home to the Lord, Mrs. Elida Cortinas surrounded by her family at her side on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the age of 82 in Laredo, Texas. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother of two, and a cherished grandmother of four. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she nurtured them with unconditional love, patience, and sacrifice.
A faithful and devoted Catholic, she lived her life in service to God and others. Her faith guided her daily, strengthened her through life’s challenges, and was reflected in her kindness, humility, and compassion. She found comfort in prayer and trusted fully in God’s will.
For 20 years, she served Webb County with dedication and integrity, viewing her work as another way to serve her community and honor God through responsibility and commitment.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service that will continue to live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
We find peace knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord, where she now rests in eternal peace.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carolina M. Sánchez, Maximino Sánchez, sister Elva Gomez and nephew Jose Gomez.
