• Time

But you CAN control:
• Your boundaries
• Your energy
• Your self-talk
• How you show up

REBT reminds us of something powerful:

It’s not the event that disturbs us
it’s the belief about the event.

A = Activating Event
B = Belief
C = Consequence

When we gently confront irrational beliefs (“I can’t handle this,” “This is unfair,” “I must not fail”), we change the emotional outcome.

Disputing distorted thoughts creates effective new beliefs.

What we tell ourselves matters.
And we have the power to challenge it.

Conflict isn’t about winning.
It’s about understanding.

When we step out of the Drama Triangle (victim, rescuer, persecutor), we step into emotional responsibility.

Nonviolent Communication teaches us to:
• Observe without blaming
• Name feelings
• Identify needs
• Make clear requests

That’s where real connection begins.

In times of conflict, the goal is connection not domination.

Connection opens it.

When a child cries, their nervous system is overwhelmed — not manipulative.
They don’t need silence.
They need safety.

What we say in those moments becomes their inner voice.

Let’s raise children who feel heard, not dismissed.

When children struggle with big emotions, impulse control, or frustration, they are not being “difficult” they are communicating a need.

Behavior is information.
Skills can be taught.
Connection changes everything.

🧠 OCD is not a lack of willpower — it’s a brain loop.

When certain brain circuits become overactive, the alarm system stays “on.”

• The threat detector keeps scanning
• The error signal says “something isn’t right”
• The habit circuit gets stuck on repeat

That’s why intrusive thoughts feel urgent.
That’s why anxiety spikes quickly.
That’s why compulsions bring temporary relief — but the loop restarts.

This isn’t weakness.
It’s neurobiology.

The hopeful part? The brain is adaptable.
With evidence-based treatment, these circuits can be retrained.

Understanding the brain reduces shame.
And healing begins with education. 💚

🧠 NOT ALL OCD LOOKS THE SAME…
Most people think OCD means being clean or organized… but that’s only a small part of the picture.

OCD often hides behind anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and mental battles that others can’t see.

Here are some common types you may not realize are OCD:

👉 Contamination OCD
Fear of germs, illness, or feeling “unclean.”

👉 Checking OCD
Repeatedly checking doors, messages, appliances, or responsibilities to prevent harm.

👉 Harm OCD
Intrusive thoughts about harming self or others — even when the person deeply does NOT want to.

👉 Relationship OCD (ROCD)
Constant doubts about love, attraction, or whether a relationship is “right.”

👉 Religious or Moral OCD (Scrupulosity)
Fear of sinning, doing something morally wrong, or not being “good enough.”

👉 Symmetry or “Just Right” OCD
Strong need for balance, alignment, or things to feel correct internally.

👉 Pure O (Primarily Obsessional OCD)
Mental rituals like overthinking, reassurance seeking, or silent checking.

💚 OCD is NOT a personality trait.
💚 Intrusive thoughts do NOT define you.
💚 Healing is possible with the right support.
