🚨 HERO CAREGIVER ALERT 🚨

We are incredibly proud to recognize our caregiver, Belkys Brito Santos, for her HEROIC actions that saved lives! 🦸‍♀️

On 12/17/25, when a kitchen fire broke out at her client's home, Belkys didn't hesitate. She immediately pulled her client to safety through the bedroom window as flames engulfed the kitchen.

Thanks to Belkys's quick thinking and brave actions:
✅ Her client, the client's daughter, and 2 children all escaped safely
✅ EMTs and a hospice nurse confirmed the client was stable
✅ Belkys stayed with her client until the family arrived

Our Clinical Manager, Damaris Santiago-Martinez, RN, said it best: "Belkys saved her client's life."

Caring for a child with complex medical needs requires specialized support, guidance and understanding. At Etairos Health, we’re proud to partner with Sunshine Health to provide services through the Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan, designed to support children and their families every step of the way 💙

The CMS Health Plan serves children from birth through age 21 who have special health care needs and require ongoing, preventive care. Dedicated care managers help families understand their benefits and access the services their child needs to thrive, all while remaining in the comfort of home.

Children may qualify if they meet Medicaid and Florida Healthy Kids requirements, are under 21 years of age, and meet CMS clinical eligibility guidelines or have a physician’s attestation.

For families providing hands-on care, Etairos also supports Home Health Aide training for Medically Fragile Children. Family caregivers can complete a 75-hour certification program that includes classroom learning, hands-on skills training and clinical instruction tailored to the child’s specific condition.

When your child has complex medical needs, navigating the healthcare system can feel overwhelming. Fortunately, Florida’s Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan, administered through Sunshine Health, provides specialized support for families caring for medically fragile children. Through Florida’s CMS Health Plan, children may qualify for home-based care under two distinct service models: Private Duty Nursing (PDN) for skilled nursing care and Family Health Home Aide (FHHA) for non-skilled personal care support provided by trained aides or family caregivers.
