Greg Taylor announces the relocation of the INTEGRATED MEDICAL CENTER as part of the “Living Vibrant Project” Initiative, Capitol Heights, Maryland 20743
Largo, Maryland, August 27, 2019 - "It is with excitement that I announce the transition of INTEGRATED MEDICAL CENTER (IMC)to the Capitol Heights, MD 20743 area” said Greg Taylor, Founder and President of Vibrant Health & Wellness Foundation (VHWF) Inc., a non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization that focuses on helping community residents to create healthy holistic approaches that positively impact wellness. He said this initiative is part of VHWF strategy to improve community access to healthcare. Although, Taylor pioneered the transition concept and developed the implementation strategy, IMC was not convinced until they saw the vision of helping residents in destitute and isolated from quality healthcare thrive toward achieving health quality and equity.
This initiative holds the promise of positively impacting health outcomes and costs for our community residents wanting to prevent unnecessary illness and helping those struggling with chronic diseases to learn better self-care strategies via lifestyle behavior modification and medical intervention. Additionally, this effort will make important contributions to the infrastructure needed for expanding access to care and improving population health management. Capitol Heights, Maryland is considered a Health Enterprise Zone (HEZ) due to the high incidence of chronic diseases and shortage of healthcare providers. “The presence of Integrated Medical Center (IMC) will narrow gap in providing Primary and Urgent Care”, said Luke Terry, MD, an internal medicine physician that is considered an expert with myriads years of practice, perform physical exams and treat a wide spectrum of common illnesses in adult men and women.
VHWF, a 3-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities and residents affected by chronic diseases and diabetes in the DMV, was awarded grants from Maryland Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities, and supported by Prince George’s County Health Department. The Vibrant Health & Wellness Foundation provide education, training, lifestyle coaching and myriads of wellness related services designed to address the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) to uninsured and insured population in the Prince George’s County area. The Living Vibrant project will continue to provide wellness programming and chronic disease prevention workshops throughout the County. As a CDC-Recognized Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Change Programs, VHWF will look to partner with IMC to address the target population from a patient centered perspectives and will employ activities designed to motivate and inspire change in physical health, healthy nutrition, education, and self-care management.
Mr. Taylor said the relocation of Integrated Medical Center to the Capitol Heights – Fairmount Heights/Seat Pleasant/Town of Capitol Heights will enable him to collaborate and work more effectively toward addressing the healthcare needs of local residents.
