Recently, the UM Capital Region Health Foundation hosted their annual Charity Golf Tournament, bringing together physicians, staff, and corporate sponsors from across the Capital Region for a cause close to our hearts.

Together, we raised over $89,000 for our Center for Advanced Medicine! These funds directly support timely, life-saving cancer care for patients in Prince George's County. With cancer as the second leading cause of death in our community, every dollar makes a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this possible!

We're proud to recognize Dr. Rayan Ibrahim for extraordinary patient care.

A patient recovering from surgery mentioned mild neck pain before discharge—easy to dismiss as nothing. But Dr. Ibrahim paused. Given the patient's complex medical history, she ordered an EKG that revealed an active heart attack.

Her clinical instinct led to emergency intervention and life-saving surgery. The patient recovered fully.

Her dedication to patient safety over convenience exemplifies the best of medicine. Thank you, Dr. Ibrahim for your dedication to our patients.

If you or someone you care about is facing depression, anxiety, substance use, or other mental health challenges, you don’t have to go through it alone. UM Capital Region Health offers two outpatient behavioral health programs at UM Laurel Medical Center: an Intensive Outpatient Program and a Partial Hospitalization Program.

Our experienced team is trained to provide essential psychiatric or behavioral health care. Often, that care begins with an evaluation, helping patients get the right support as soon as possible.

For more information about our behavioral health services, call 240-677-7090.
