Aya Behavioral Health LLC welcomes David Cloutier! David lives in the beloved city of Baltimore. Currently a third year Masters-Level Intern, David is studying Counseling Psychology at Bowie State University. Prior to returning to school in pursuit of becoming a therapist, he earned a Masters of Fine Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art (2005) and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting with a Certificate in Art Therapy from University of the Arts (YEAR). As such, David brings decades of teaching, learning, and creative experience to his ther**eutic practice. His research and philosophy focus on life transitions and the challenges of finding direction and meaning holistically. David’s philosophy and ther**eutic approach is person-centered with a strong interest in the stories his clients bring to therapy. The life stories clients express are invaluable to the process of change and are essential to forward movement and growth. David’s practice also focuses on therapy for those experiencing loss and grief along with the challenges of life changes in all stages of aging. His perspective offers an understanding of how each person has more to say than is often spoken and the importance of personal narrative to finding direction in the journey of life.
