Metformin extended release recall for NDMA contamination. Please see if you are receiving it from one of these manufacturers. Call your pharmacy for assistance if you are affected. Do not stop your medications related to this. Your pharmacy should reach out to you, but I want patients to be aware. It is only the extended release (or ER) preparations.

Today, FDA alerted patients and health care professionals to Nostrum Laboratories’ voluntary recall of 4 lots of extended release (ER) metformin because it may contain NDMA above the acceptable intake limit. To learn more, visit: https://go.usa.gov/x78gY
