I always have a fantastic time being in my old stomping ground NYC, but being at JPMorgan Chase & Co. HQ in NYC, was like being a rock star on the 43rd floor with an incredible view of downtown Manhattan for a team collaboration session between Edie Fraser, Sharon W. Reynolds, MBA, Theresa Harrison, Dr. Andrea Simon, Elizabeth Blockman, hashtag , and Simone Berry 🇯🇲 was so powerful and sure to result in brilliant teamwork going forward.

Then a panel discussion hosted by Michelle Buonfiglio, Shaunté Robinson, Bryant, and hashtag , featuring Sharon W. Reynolds, MBA Shelley Zalis, Theresa Harrison, and Deirdre Quinn, was absolutely amazing. The panelists not only shared valuable insights and advice, but they also inspired us to disrupt traditional industry standards and promote diversity in meaningful ways. Moderated by hashtag , co- author of hashtag , and whose bio epitomizes its title, was in her usual sensational form!

There were a few key takeaways that really resonated with me. Shelley Zalis reminded us that passion drives us when we love what we do, while unconscious bias is a choice that we can consciously overcome. Theresa Harrison emphasized that our background doesn't define us, and even detours can lead us down the right path. Lastly, Deirdre Quinn encouraged us to build a company that is important to us.

And to top it all off, I had the opportunity to meet and chat with tennis icon hashtag and unbelievably we discussed some serious business about TruePop Popcorn. 💪🍿🔥It was an all-around incredible experience!

Thanks to Melissa A. Washington and the for hosting a gathering of battle-ready entrepreneurs at Westin Crystal City R eagan Airport! Last night's event was delightful, exhilarating, and fulfilling. We had the opportunity to establish new connections, nurture and expand our businesses, form fresh alliances to collaborate on innovative solutions for longstanding challenges, and, most importantly, forge new friendships to provide unwavering support and sustain a newfound sisterhood. It was a pleasure to meet Marguerite Stubbs , Dr. Tia Corbin-Myers (PMP) and share our common bond of military experience.

The impact of military life is undeniably transformative! From enlistment to transitions out of uniform or duty stations, each step signifies a profound change. However, it wasn't until my involvement in the inaugural in Residence Bunker Labs Washington DC that I realized life was poised for another significant shift, even years into my entrepreneurial journey. Now, witnessing the merger of the Institute for and Military Families - IVMF with Bunker Labs and experiencing the incredible Military Entrepreneurship Military Entrepreneurship Forum they hosted in Austin, Texas, on Feb. 28th sponsored by , it's evident how profoundly life-changing these moments can be for attendees. Even days later, I find myself still processing the wealth of knowledge, connections, and genuine camaraderie that filled every interaction.

In a room brimming with veterans, there's an innate drive to outdo one another in service to others, resulting in a collective sense of fulfillment. At the beautiful Capital Factory, the atmosphere was set to do just that, beginning with a furnace-side chat with the incredible duo, Meg Vrabel and Joseph Kopser, whose wisdom and light laughter filled the room. Following that, although Fiserv initially invited only True Pop, thanks to Nanci Gandy, CMP, and Meg Hendricks, PHR, I had the honor of joining an exceptional panel discussion alongside two remarkable individuals, Alan Apple and Brendan Mullen. The afternoon breakout sessions and networking breaks were equally rewarding, with every encounter and conversation leaving a lasting impression.

The roundtable discussion on Day Two, led by Misty Stutsman Fox and Rosalinda Vasquez Maury, was awe-inspiring. Every participant brought valuable insights, making each seat at the table a treasure trove of wisdom. As my newfound friend Patty Morgan aptly puts it, "combined forces" truly elevate these experiences to new heights. More connections with great people to collaborate on ideas and projects that will not only benefit the veteran entrepreneurship family but also contribute positively to the world! Special thanks to those who handled the logistics - travel, lodging, love, and food - Nanci Gandy, CMP, Tiffany Jones, Mikhala Dougher, and Michael Parks, who ensured we all looked our best.

Looking forward to cultivating new connections with Corinna Balderramos Robinson, PhD, MPP, MSCJA, Carol (CJ) Miller [She/Her], Kristi Alderson (Certified SDVOSB), Pallavi Pande, Paul O'Brien, Jimi Threet, Lola Howard, Lauren Hope, Monique Gibson, Mellissa Tong, Ruben Cantu, Shana Manzano, Colleen Riddick, Kris Vandenberg, Monica Perras, eMBA, M.S., Trevor Otts

"Reflecting on last night, I was all set to ring in the New Year at church, but my high temperature of 103° had other plans. Fortunately, it has come down to 100° this morning, but I'm still feeling achy. It seems like after spending so much time in the hospital with my dad, God decided to give me a much-needed break.

Last year, I missed the tennis tournament due to Covid, got to compete this year, but now, it's time for rest and preparation for new journeys ahead. I'm incredibly excited about 2024, as it holds significant milestones for me. In March, I'll be celebrating my big 60th birthday, and in November, I'll mark 25 years in business. This year, I'm also thrilled to release not just one, but two books (that makes 5 now)! Alongside these accomplishments, I anticipate embarking on new business ventures, nurturing important relationships, completeing my private pilot license, and being a blessing to the kingdom. I am overflowing with gratitude and thankfulness. "

Who’s your super hero? I have always told anyone that ever complimented me on anything that my earthly dad, was the impetus behind my close walk with my Heavenly Father thus the one responsible for due credit.

And since life is a full circle we not only return the favor as they age, but we also are obedient to the command, to love and honor our parents.

My dad has consumed every moment of my life the last seven weeks and what a TROOPER, he has been. His new name is “Battle Ready Eddie Dallas” such a true veteran, a soldier, willing to fight and not give up or in. Adamantly opposed, to holistic healing himself, when they said he needs to have his leg amputated seven weeks ago, or he’d die in a few days, he had enough faith in God to let me take him home and try another way ….

After a LOT OF WORK and noticeable improvement in circulation and signs of some blood flow, and a lot in between; a sign of infection crept in Friday.

The tangible gains from acupuncture, acupressure, naturopathic oils and daily massage and infrared treatments and herbs, were always jeopardized by my Dad's impatience and instance on pushing himself hard to regain his strength. Dragging and placing too much pressure on his foot and limb, likely contributed greatly to the infection.

These 7 weeks were necessary for my Dad to be comfortable with the decision to move forward with the amputation, to feel ALL alternatives were exhausted. I personally believe also that for me, what I felt was unimaginable for an 88 year old, after watching him figure out how to get up and down 3 flights of stairs on his own and so many other acts of amazement
while continuously being in some level of pain, but most of all his faith that God will bring him through…. I realize he will be just fine, he can always use my leg, it’s strong enough for the both of us it’s the least I can do to repay my super hero! to be just like him when I’m 88!

Even when I told him I believe we've exhausted the alternative treatment path, let’s go to the hospital today ( Christmas) while it’s not busy to get you in and settled for the surgeons ASAP, he said okay.

Of course it’s a miracle all his doctors were beyond stunned that he looked so well and was still alive; and that ALL his vitals are nearly perfect, and I believe they all have a new appreciation for alternative treatments, and as such have been super supportive in making sure he gets the best professional care, we have the best surgical and medical team and the Director responds to our text as of we were his kids!

Got here at 6 to play and sing to him my fave spiritual music Gratitude by Brandon Lake, he asked “did you write that”, as he told me he and his 5 brothers were the Dallas Singing Group and he was leader and ALL the churches would request them .. then we listened to a sermon on Gratitude by Allister Begg, just as they came to take him to pre-op.

I’m grateful to God for keeping us these last seven weeks, for allowing both of us to be at peace with whatever God has planned for us next, as my dad continues to live, and I eapevitthanl God that my dad has taken such good care of himself to be in a position to handle all the enemies darts at this age, with a strong heart no diseases or things to kept him from handling this. Amen

Thanks for your prayers to the God who hears, answers and is able.
