On April 4, 2024 Oral Cancer Cause, Inc., with much excitement, announced that it has joined forces with top-rated cancer charity, the V Foundation for Cancer Research, to support lifesaving research. By directing funds through the V Foundation, OCC will shift its focus to supporting carefully vetted, cutting-edge oral cancer research at prominent cancer centers nationwide.

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach and ESPN commentator.

As Dentists, we are the gatekeepers for diseases originating in the oral cavity, and while most of us don't think of our roles as potentially life-saving, it's time to rethink that role. Urging our patients with young children to get them vaccinated against HPV before they reach puberty will be a life saving activity for many of them!
