Update 4/7/26: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service has retracted this public health alert. Follow-up testing found no elevated levels of lead in chicken nuggets. The federal government has determined this product does not pose a health concern.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service is issuing a public health alert for Great Value-brand frozen dinosaur nuggets. The packages were sold in Walmart stores across the U.S., but are no longer available to purchase.
Lead is especially dangerous for pregnant women, infants, and young children. It can do harm to brains and nervous systems, sometimes causing lasting problems.
This is part of an ongoing investigation. Consumers should check the website often in case of additional alerts or recalls.
