As an an EMFT bodyworker, waking up every day with the thought that something amazing is about to happen is more than just a mindsetβ€”it's a way of life. It's about approaching each day with anticipation and openness to the possibilities that lie ahead, both for myself and the horses I work with.

For me, something amazing could be as simple as witnessing a horse's gradual progress and improvement over time. It's the subtle shifts in their movement, demeanor, and overall well-being that remind me of the transformative power of massage therapy.

Every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of the horses I treat. Whether it's helping a horse find relief from discomfort, facilitating relaxation and stress reduction, or creating a deeper connection between horse and rider, each session holds the potential for something truly remarkable to unfold.

But it's not just about the tangible outcomesβ€”it's also about the intangible moments of connection, understanding, and mutual trust that develop between myself and the horses I work with. It's the feeling of being able to communicate with them on a deeper level, of being entrusted with their care, that makes every day as a bodyworker truly extraordinary.

So, as I wake up each morning, I do so with a sense of excitement and purpose, knowing that something amazing awaits. And with each horse I have the privilege to work with, I am reminded of the profound impact that a little care, compassion, and dedication can have on their lives. πŸ΄πŸ’«

Every day, I strive to grow and evolve in my practice, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge to better serve the horses in my care. Each session teaches me something new, whether it's about the intricacies of equine anatomy or the profound impact of compassionate touch.

I may not have all the answers or be the perfect therapist, but I am committed to continuous improvement and learning. With each horse I work with, I become a little bit better, a little bit wiser, and a little bit closer to the therapist I aspire to be.

So here's to embracing the journey of growth and discovery, both for myself and for the horses I have the privilege to work with.

Happy Muscle Monday: Let's talk about the Rhomboid

The Rhomboid is a deep muscle that play a crucial role in connecting the neck and upper thoracic vertebrae to the shoulder. It's the bridge between these areas, facilitating movement and stability in the front end of our equine friends. Here's what you need to know:

πŸ”Ή Actions: The Rhomboid raises the scapula, moves the scapula forward, and elevates the neck.

🚩 Signs of Rhomboid Dysfunction: Keep an eye out for these red flags that may show Rhomboid issues:
1. Shortened stride
2. Loss of power in the front leg
3. Difficulty picking up or changing leads
4. Soreness in the withers area
5. Ears pinned back when the girth is tightened

πŸ” Activities that can cause Rhomboid dysfunction:
1. Excessive pressure on the reins by the rider
2. Landing after a jump
3. Racehorses leaving the gate
4. Poor saddle fit
5. Using a tie-down, especially in roping horses

Understanding the role of the Rhomboid and recognizing signs of dysfunction is important for maintaining your horse's comfort and performance. Keep these insights in mind to ensure your equine partner stays happy and healthy!

🐴✨ Meet Harkin! ✨🐴

This special horse holds the key to my journey into the career of equine massage. After noticing signs of agitation and discomfort in Harkin, I made it my mission to understand and alleviate his discomfort. Little did I know, this journey would lead me to starting Natural Equine Healing. πŸ™Œ

Driven by the desire to make a positive impact on horses' lives, I pursued formal training and certification as an Equine Myo-Manipulative Functional Therapist. Now, I'm dedicated to providing holistic bodywork for horses like Harkin, helping them live their best and most comfortable lives.

My journey with Harkin inspired me to turn my passion into a purpose, and I'm grateful every day to be able to make a difference in the lives of these amazing animals.
