The Optometric Vision Center (OVC) was established in 1948 by Dr. Raymond M. Dr. Paz, who was a native Las Crucen, had the opportunity to pursue his optometric education from the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry. When he returned to New Mexico, Dr. Paz opened a family optometry practice in the heart of Las Cruces. For 40 years he provided optometric care to Las Cruces and the surrounding community. Dr. Paz was also closely involved with his community and active in his church and in civic organizations. He served two terms on the New Mexico Board of Examiners for Optometry and 25 years with the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Board. The City of Las Cruces recognized Dr. Pazโs community service in 1979 with the dedication of the Raymond M. Dedicated to his family, community, and country, Dr. Raymond Paz established the firm business foundation that OVC enjoys today. In 1988, Dr. Paz passed the practice on to his youngest son, Dr. Thomas Paz. Committed to the values, principles, and standards of optometric care established by his father, Dr. Thomas Paz continues to serve the needs of Las Cruces and the surrounding area. In 1993 he relocated OVC from the downtown Las Cruces area to a larger clinic located at 330 E. In 1999 Dr. Adrian Tenorio joined OVC. In 2004 OVC changed its name to LOOKS Eyecare.
