Las Cruces City Council recognizes “Diabetes Awareness Month” and presented a Proclamation to the Southern New Mexico Diabetes Alliance at this afternoon's City Council meeting.

Thank you Doña Ana County Government Center for recognizing November as Diabetes Awareness Month.

Doña Ana County is committed to raising awareness and supporting healthier lives across our community. Through programs like the Nuestra Vida Diabetes Prevention Program, which offers lifestyle-change courses, and support for partners like Southern New Mexico Diabetes Outreach (SNMDO), we’re working to provide valuable education and resources for residents.

The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners proudly recognizes November as Diabetes Awareness Month and encourages everyone to join us in increasing awareness, supporting those affected, and promoting healthy living throughout our community.

That’s a wrap! ✔️ The 2nd Annual Dash for Diabetes Awareness 5K and 1 Mile Run was a great success with over 150+ runners in the Mesilla Plaza. Thank you to all the volunteers, vendors, race coordinators, and race participants for helping us make this year’s event memorable. 🌟

That’s why we're hosting the SNMDO Dash for Diabetes 5K TOMORROW! We're not just running for fun—we're running for awareness and action.

We will be offering NO-COST HEALTH SCREENINGS at the event to help you understand your personal risk for diabetes. Join us this Saturday, November 15th, at the Mesilla Plaza. Run the 5K, then visit our Health Fair (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) to take a powerful step for your health.

📅 RACE DAY SCHEDULE - SATURDAY, NOV 15TH

Check-In: 8:00 AM - 8:45 AM at Mesilla Plaza

1-Mile Start: 9:15 AM

5K Start: 9:10 AM

Health Fair: 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM

📍 PACKET PICKUP - DON'T FORGET!
If you miss Friday's pickup, you can grab your packet TOMORROW at the Mesilla Plaza from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM.

🐾 FURRY FRIENDS ARE WELCOME!
We love our four-legged runners! Well-trained pets are welcome to join the dash. Please be a responsible pet owner and bring your own waste bags. For your convenience, you can also grab bags from the dispensers available in the plaza—please stick up before the race begins!

🗺️ RACE MAP & SAFETY (PLEASE READ!)
Your safety is our top priority!

Stay on the designated race route. This is an open road course, so you must be vigilant of traffic.

Follow the map provided and stick to the marked path. Always prioritize safety and be mindful of vehicles.

Look out for race signs. Key points will be marked to guide you and remind everyone to share the road responsibly.

🍎 FINISH LINE REFRESHMENTS
Congratulations, you did it! After you cross the finish line, enjoy some light refreshments generously provided by Natural Grocers.

Primary Parking: Spaces are available in front of the church and in the plaza area.

Additional Parking: Public parking lots are located behind the church.
