🎉 Success Story Spotlight! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating Mr. Loren Wagner, who was with us at Casa del Sol from April 23rd to June 19th, 2025!

Mr. Wagner was admitted with a fracture of the right tibia and was non-weight-bearing at the time. With the incredible support of our Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) teams, Mr. Wagner made amazing progress during his stay.

At the beginning, he required full assistance with transfers and all activities of daily living (ADLs). But through his determination and the dedicated care he received, Mr. Wagner was discharged walking 300 feet with a walker and independently completing his ADLs! 🙌💪

🏡 We're thrilled to see Mr. Wagner return home stronger and more confident. What a journey — and what a triumph!

A Remarkable Journey of Strength and Recovery 💪

We are thrilled to share the inspiring story of Mr. Joe Gardner, a dedicated United States Air Force veteran, who has made an incredible recovery journey here at Casa del Sol Center.

Mr. Gardner was admitted on March 17, 2024, with a complicated fracture of his left leg, which was healing slowly due to medical comorbidities. He was unable to walk, stand, or even sit up in a wheelchair for long periods of time, making everyday tasks a real challenge. But through his perseverance and commitment, he showed us the true meaning of strength. 💯

With the help of skilled therapy services, Mr. Gardner worked tirelessly to regain his independence. After months of dedication and hard work, we are so proud to announce that on December 9, 2024, he successfully achieved his goal of returning to his independent living apartment at The Village at Northrise!

Today, Mr. Gardner can walk independently with a walker, transfer in and out of his powerchair, and complete all of his daily activities on his own. 🏅

Thank you for your service, Mr. Gardner. It has been an honor to be part of your journey toward recovery. We are incredibly proud of you and your strength! ❤️

We’re thrilled to kick off our celebration with a spectacular circus-themed event! 🎪✨ It was an amazing day filled with delicious food, fun games, and most importantly, honoring our incredible employees.

A special shoutout to our first nominee winner, Shirley Stuart, who has been a dedicated member of the Casa del Sol family for 18 years. Shirley exemplifies what it means to lead with heart, and we are so grateful for her dedication to our residents. 💖👏

And that’s not all! We had the joy of having a mariachi singer perform for our employees and residents, adding an extra touch of excitement and cultural celebration to our day. 🎶🎺

Vera Kerschner joined our Laurel Center family on May 7, 2024, drawn to us by our proximity to her son and the glowing recommendation from her brother-in-law, a former resident. Having heard only wonderful things about our care, food, and beautiful landscape, Vera was hopeful. But what she found here exceeded even her expectations.

From the moment she arrived, Vera felt at home in our serene country setting, a reminder of the place she cherished for over 60 years. This connection to the environment has been more than comforting; it’s been healing.

Vera has made remarkable strides since her admission, and her recent triumph at her first-ever bingo event is just one example. She didn’t just win once—she won twice in a row! Amid laughter, Vera joked, “It wasn’t the best way to make friends,” as her roommate playfully teased, “Beginner’s luck!” The joy and camaraderie they shared is the essence of what makes Laurel special.

Having worked as a dental assistant for 34 years, Vera knows the value of a caring community. She now recommends Laurel to friends and family, praising the warm atmosphere, delicious food, and endless activities that keep life vibrant and engaging.

But above all, what Vera loves most about Laurel is the people—the dedicated staff, the friendly residents, and the shared experiences that make every day feel like home. Here at Laurel, Leading with Heart isn’t just a motto; it’s the way we live, and it’s why Vera feels she belongs.

🌟 Patient Success Story 🌟

We’re delighted to share Ms. Turner's incredible journey at Casa del Sol. After arriving on 8/8/2024 with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and cardiac complications, Ms. Turner required extensive support for daily activities. Thanks to our dedicated team and a comprehensive rehab program, she has made remarkable progress.

Ms. Turner can now walk independently with a walker and handle all her daily activities on her own. We’re thrilled to announce her discharge to home with her daughter on 8/31/2024.
