Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) are significant concerns for many women and can have a substantial impact on quality of life and intimacy. Fortunately, growing research on vaginal rejuvenation suggests that radiofrequency (RF) and laser therapies may be effective options for improving symptoms associated with vaginal laxity and atrophy. In my practice, with 18 years of clinical experience, I have found these treatments to be particularly beneficial for women who either prefer not to use hormones or are unable to use them. This is why I consider Emfemme to be an important treatment option for women experiencing GSM and VVA. The study below is one of many demonstrating the potential benefits of RF therapy in addressing these common conditions. This is why I'm proud to offer Emfemme360 and Emsella treatments in my office!

Vaginal Rejuvenation: A Retrospective Review of Lasers and Radiofrequency Devices - PubMed

This review demonstrates radiofrequency and laser are efficacious for the treatment of vaginal laxity and/or atrophy. Further research needs to be completed to determine which specific pathologies can be treated, if maintenance treatment is necessary, and long-term safety concerns.
