It's the important things

A parent cannot teach what they don't know.

Parents are busy people who sometimes neglect certain lessons because they don't think it's important to teach their children certain things. They might assume that the child will simply learn by observing what they do or how they handle certain situations. Please name something that people MIGHT consider trivial but that you believe people should know.

Example: guests in our houses should not feel they have a right to walk through the whole house simply because they were invited into the living room! Don't go into people's bedrooms unless invited! Don't open closes doors without first knocking and then being invited in No invite? Leave the door shut.

Agree or disagree? Please add something else kids should be taught.
