Dwellyoga Student of the Month đđ¸
So much love for Melissa Ramirezâshowing up with courage, grace, and heart through it all. We are honored to practice alongside you. â¨
My name is Melissa, and I began my yoga journey with my daughter, Karyna, about three years ago. What started as something special we shared together has grown into something I deeply rely on in my everyday life.
This past year has been incredibly challenging after being diagnosed with pleomorphic lobular carcinoma in situ (pLCIS). Yoga has helped me slow down and return to myself during moments when everything feels overwhelming. It has made me physically and mentally stronger, improved my flexibility, and my favorite class Bikyasa has pushed me to grow in ways I never expected, both on and off the mat. Even outside the studio, I can hear Jessâs voice reminding me to breathe, stay present, and be gentle with myself guidance that has grounded me and helped me make thoughtful, calm decisions during some of my hardest moments.
As I prepare to face my next challenge a bilateral mastectomy in February I will lean heavily on breathwork to carry me through until I am able to return to the mat, trusting in Godâs grace and healing along the way.
With so many blessings to look forward to in 2026, I am filled with gratitude. My son will marry his beautiful fiancĂŠe, my daughter will graduate with her bachelorâs degree and has applied to pursue her masterâs, and I will continue to watch our grandchildren grow. I am especially thankful for my husband my best friend who has been by my side every step of the way. I am also deeply grateful for my wonderful family, supportive friends, and caring coworkers who continue to surround me with encouragement, love, and strength. Through both my blessings and my struggles, God has reminded me how profoundly thankful I am for the people in my life and the love that helps me show up for myself each day.
Much love and gratitude to Jess, the Dwell community, and all my fellow yogis for creating such a supportive, nonjudgmental space. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
