Nevada birth freedoms are at risk again. This is a long but phenomenal interview with a midwife who practiced here in Nevada before moving and becoming licensed in another state. Her experience is valuable and everyone should listen to what she has to say.

Having the benefit of practicing in a state that does not license midwives, then moving to one that does, Lindy shares her experiences and observations.

Email them to vote no on AB387 if it gets to the floor today, tell them you live in their district and you strongly oppose the bill for VAST reasons, or whatever you want but keep it short.
ALSO CALL THEM and say the same thing.

The Assembly bill (AB387) passed the Labor and Commerce committee last week and will be voted on by the assembly this week. This bill was written and is supported by only 2 of Nevada's midwives. The remainder, 40, are opposed to this bill. Birthing families who wish to remain free to choose their birth attendants are also opposing this bill.

Please follow these instructions and write to your district assembly person directly.

Find your STATE ASSEMBLY REPRESENTATIVE--ignore the others for now. Write a brief email. The subject line ought to be "Most Nevadans Oppose AB387" or, if you are writing as a midwife, "Most midwives oppose AB387.
In the opening line of your email, be sure to mention that you are IN THEIR DISTRICT. "I am a constituent in your district," for instance. Write whatever you like after that.

I am so excited for another birthing option in Southern Nevada! Congratulations to all involved!

WE ARE OFFICIALLY LICENSED!!!!

We have waited for this day for so long. So many hours, long nights, weekend, tears, emails and meetings have gone into this. This beautiful space has sat ready, waiting for this, to be able to offer our services. April has been working on making this happen for so many years. What was once a dream of hers, is now a reality for our community. Our team has grown through out the process and everyone has played such a vital role in this literal labor of love.
