One of our Impact Fellows recently shared:
“I learned about peer-reviewed research for the first time during the fellowship. Before this, I just published my work without getting any feedback.”
It reflects a widespread issue we don’t talk about enough: learning gaps—the crucial skills and understanding that fall through the cracks of fast-paced education systems.
A few weeks ago, our CEO, Caitlyn Wang, addressed this in her piece “The Missing Middle,” where she highlighted how our education system prioritizes speed over substance.
🔹 8 in 10 students can’t tell real news from ads online
🔹 Only 16% feel confident spotting fake info
🔹 40% of grads are working jobs that don’t require their degrees
🔹 AI is shifting the job market faster than schools can adapt
So, the question is: Are we preparing kids for the real world, or just the next exam?
✅ Teach by doing, not just instructing
✅ Let kids try, fail, and try again—with guidance
✅ Prioritize emotional intelligence, teamwork, and critical thinking—not soft skills, survival skills
In a world where AI is rapidly evolving, the future will belong to those who can think ethically, connect authentically, and solve creatively.
