When W**d Makes Anxiety Worse (And Can Even Trigger Psychosis). Let’s talk about something folks don’t say loud enough: THC can mess with your mind.

Yes, cannabis can help you relax. But if you’re dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, or have a sensitive nervous system? Certain strains and high doses can flip the switch from “I’m chillin” to “I’m trippin.”

And in some cases, it doesn’t stop at anxiety, it can lead to paranoia, hallucinations, and full-on psychosis.

Rest or Risk It All: The Cost of Burnout for Black Women in America

On April 21st, Quita Cole made a simple post on Facebook: “I’m taking the next 3 days off. Quita need rest.” She never woke up from the rest she finally allowed herself.

Quita Cole, a 40-year-old Black woman, worked seven days a week. Like many women of color, she gave and gave, until her body could no longer keep up with her spirit. She took a nap after finally taking time off, and tragically never woke up. Her story, now circulating widely online, is more than tragic. It is a devastating wake-up call.

This story echoes loudly alongside Tyler Perry’s new film Straw, a haunting narrative about a Black woman pushed beyond the brink of emotional, physical, and spiritual exhaustion. Perry has long been a voice in showcasing the quiet suffering of Black women who are conditioned to carry the weight of the world while masking their own needs. The timing of this film is chillingly aligned with the real-life loss of Quita Cole.

Halle, DDG, and the Hidden Crisis Behind the Headlines: A Therapeutic Reflection on Postpartum, Power, and Public Scrutiny

In a world where celebrity lives unfold in real-time across social platforms, the recent conflict between Halle Bailey and DDG has become more than tabloid drama—it’s a public display of private pain. And while the internet debates who's right or wrong, we at Flowing Lotus Center believe it’s essential to redirect the conversation toward healing, emotional maturity, and trauma-informed awareness.

From the lens of a therapist, this moment isn't just about entertainment. It’s a wake-up call.

Rest well, Quita Cole.

Sis wasn’t just tired, she was waving red flags in broad daylight. She said it: “I need another me… I can’t do all of this anymore.” And still, she poured into her people, her community, her business, her loved ones.

Quita was giving from an empty cup. She tried to rest, but the world kept pulling. Now, tragically, that rest has come too late.

As she is laid to rest, let this be a sacred reminder:

Rest is not a luxury. Rest is resistance. Rest is survival.

To every Black woman carrying the weight of work, caregiving, culture, and expectations:

Listen to your body.
Respect your limits.
Take the damn nap.
Say no.
Go ghost.
Breathe.

You don’t have to earn your rest.

You don’t have to break to be heard.

You are not here to be everything for everyone.

Today, we honor Quita’s light.
Tomorrow, we protect our own.

You deserve rest now. Not just in peace, but in life.

The body holds what the mind can’t always process. So I sit. I breathe. I allow space for release. Some days healing is loud, other days, it’s as quiet as my heartbeat on the mat.

Not every healing moment looks graceful. Sometimes it looks like pausing mid-flow to feel. I stretch to create space where pain once lived. I’m not here to perform. I’m here to return to myself.

Every stretch is a silent release. I let my body speak for the pain I’ve carried too long. The tension, the trauma, the tightness, it leaves my body through breath, through movement, through choice.

This is what healing in motion looks like. It’s not always still. It’s not always pretty. But it’s always sacred.

Are you making space for stretch and quiet healing?

April 1st.
A soft divine reset.
Not a joke, not a coincidence, an awakening.

You are being called to bloom.
To release what no longer sings to your soul.
To root deeply in purpose and rise gently into your becoming.
The past is a shadow, and you are light.
Let your spirit stretch. Let your truth unfold.
You are not behind, you are blooming right on time.

Float into this season with grace, faith, and wild devotion to your own evolution.

Doechii’s “Anxiety” is a vibe, but be careful when you call it your song. Music speaks to your spirit, but your words speak to your reality. Don’t claim what you’re trying to heal from.

Repeat This Affirmation:
“I am not my anxiety. I am calm, grounded, and in control.”

Fear is an illusion. Therefore, it holds no real power unless we give it permission. So start your day with unwavering faith in God, trusting that He is in control, no matter what illusions may try to deceive you.

I remember feeling like a true diamond in the rough. I felt overlooked, uncared for, and as if my shine would never be seen. But then I realized my brilliance was never meant for just anyone—it’s rare, precious, and deserving of only those who truly value it. Now, I protect my light fiercely and let it shine unapologetically. This is your reminder to know your worth and never let anyone dull your sparkle.

You don’t understand how mental clarity, peace of mind, and your health are the only wealth you’ll ever have. Clarity is the foundation of mental wellness, and peace of mind is one of life’s most precious gifts.

Your mental health is your superpower. When your mind is clear and your heart is calm, you can face anything life throws your way.

Prioritize rest. Seek support. Protect your peace. It’s one of the greatest acts of self-love.
