Hey everyone!
I wanted to share some info our method managing ADHD: neurofeedback. 🧠✨
For those who may not be familiar, neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that uses real-time monitoring of brain activity to teach self-regulation of brain function. It's like a workout for your brain, helping it to operate more efficiently!
🔍 How it works:
Real-time feedback: Sensors are placed on your scalp to measure brainwave activity. This information is then displayed through visual or auditory feedback.
Training sessions: Through repeated sessions, individuals learn to produce desired brainwave patterns, which can enhance focus, attention, and emotional regulation.
Non-invasive and drug-free: This makes it a great option for those looking for alternative or complementary treatments to medication.
💡 Why consider neurofeedback for ADHD?
Improved attention and focus: Many individuals report better concentration and reduced distractibility.
Enhanced emotional regulation: Neurofeedback can help manage symptoms like impulsivity and hyperactivity.
Personalized treatment: Each neurofeedback program is tailored to the individual's unique brain patterns.
While more research is always needed, many families and individuals with ADHD have found neurofeedback to be a valuable part of their treatment plan. If you or someone you know is exploring options for ADHD management, it might be worth looking into!
And as a side note- this is how our owner and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Jillian Wendelin has managed her own ADHD and why she is so passionate about spreading the word!
Have any of you tried neurofeedback for ADHD or know someone who has? I'd love to hear your experiences and thoughts! 💬
