Following up my last post, the next question is…
is homebirth right for you?

And the truth is…
this isn’t something you should have to convince yourself into

Not every woman is called to homebirth
But for the one who is
it feels clear

Not perfect
not easy
but aligned

It comes with a desire
to be present in your birth
to understand what’s happening
and to take an active role in your care

And an understanding
that birth isn’t fully predictable
or something you control

It’s not about trends
It’s about what’s right for you

Fear isn’t a stable foundation for birth
no matter where you choose to give birth

And I think that matters more than we talk about

Because I see women choosing from fear in both directions

Choosing the hospital because they’re afraid of what could happen at home
Or choosing homebirth because they’re afraid of the hospital system. The truth is…
birth is unknown no matter where you go

And then on top of that…
we have social media

Where homebirth can start to look like an aesthetic

The twinkle lights
The quiet room
The calm, peaceful moments

And those moments are real
I’ve witnessed them over and over again

But they’re not the full picture

Birth is also intensity
It’s surrender
It’s doing the work beforehand and then letting go in the moment

Homebirth asks something of you

It asks you to prepare
to nourish your body
to stay engaged in your care
to take responsibility for your choices

And more than anything…
it asks you to be aligned

Not chasing a vibe
Not running from fear

But choosing from a place of deep trust

You don’t need a perfect birth
You need the right birth for you 🤍

This month felt extra special.

Because she’s not just repeating words…
she’s growing up with a different lens.

One where birth isn’t something done to women.
One where women aren’t passive in their own experience.

That kind of perspective doesn’t just happen.

It’s taught.
It’s modeled.
It’s protected.

And that’s how generational patterns shift.

The words we use in birth quietly decide:
Who’s in charge
Who’s doing the work
Who gets the credit

And most people don’t even question it.

A 6-year-old just did.

Not left to navigate it alone.

That’s what doulas do.

They step into the space quietly, but everything shifts because of it.
More confidence.
More peace.
More trust in the process.

This work isn’t about control—it’s about presence.

We’re so excited to be hosting this one 🤍

“Managing Multiples” is coming to Las Vegas this October and it’s going to be such a good, in-depth day for midwives who want to feel more confident supporting twin births.

This is an advanced, full day workshop with real case studies, practical skills, and honest conversations about managing multiples in the real world.

And truly… we are ecstatic to learn from Kristine and bring her experience to our community. This is going to be a really special day.
